Kindle Friends Forever 5  review by Tracey Lou Parker

A welcome return to Club Onyx. This is the third instalment of this series by Author Sebastian Ex. Carnal Desire gives us a look into the life of Nathan Stone, an ex policeman and now part owner of a BDSM club,The Onyx Room, as well as his love interest Bianca. If you were to go visit the Onyx room, you would find Nathan either in the office with Bianca beside him in the slave position or out and about in the club as he has the title of “Dungeon Master”, Master being the operative word.

Bianca is Nathan’s slave. The Master/slave (or owner/property) relationship is entered into on a consensual basis. Bianca’s complex character comes with deep psychological issues and reading this book will tell you the reason why. She was born for a purpose; a purpose that would take your breath away. Her upbringing was not that of a carefree happy child in a loving family environment, it was totally the opposite.

Nathan and Bianca had been in their relationship for quite a few years and it’s worked for them both. Nathan was her safe haven. She was loved, cherished and cared for and that was something that she needed. She suffered from highs and lows and sometimes the lows would bring unimaginable consequences. Nathan had a sixth sense where Bianca’s emotions were concerned and he was always aware when an episode would surface. Whenever that time came, Nathan would give Bianca the pain and pleasure that she so desperately craved.

The reappearance of Bianca’s parents brings together Matthew and Brandon (from book 1 and 2), and Nathan’s brother, Jason. Together they unite and deal with a situation that finally needed to come to an end. I haven’t given too much away but I highly recommend that you read this book so that all your questions are answered.

My feelings about this book had me torn. I had become so engrossed with it that the characters, especially Bianca, became real to me. What she had to endure brought a tear to my eye. This was not a bad thing I can assure you. I love it when an author writes an incredible story that sucks me right in. What I don’t like to do is cry! And this was conveyed to the author. *Wink*
I would just like to mention the one sentence that totally grabbed at my heartstrings and made me shed a tear or two. The closure that Bianca needed was finally within sight and the five words she uttered…
“Master, may I let go?”, made my heart smile. At long last she had the chance to be completely free and happy as she so deserved to be. As we know, this is the third book in this series and I have been very fortunate to have read the first two. Each book was beautifully written and this one is no different. Carnal Desire takes you deeper into a world that maybe some have never experienced before. The relationship between a master and slave was certainly an eye-opener but who am I to judge! And judge, I did not.

Sebastian Ex . You tackled scenes in your book with grace, dignity and understanding and for that, I applaud you. Bravo on an outstanding piece of writing. With each book your writing has grown as much as your characters. Thank you for yet another great addition to the Onyx club series. Five stars well deserved stars.

Bianca requires aftercare as much as she needs the sting of the pain. I clean her wounds, and apply a liberal amount of Neosporin ointment and let the wound breathe. I then cover her up with the thin blanket and sit on the bed bedside her. “Slave.” Her eyes flicker open. “Here you go” I unscrew the water bottle and hold it to her lips. She automatically reaches out so she can take the bottle, but I lightly smack her hand away. “I’ll take care of you.” Bianca smiles, then puts her lips to the bottle as I tip it  so she can drink.

“Thank you, Master,” she dreamily says before placing her head on the pillow and falling into sleep.

Walking away from the bed and to the opposite side of the playroom, I take my phone out of my pocket and call Matthew.

“Hey,” he says when he answers.

“Hey, I’m supposed to do an inventory check today but Bianca is starting to fall. We’ve just had a mini scene, but she’s out of it. Can you go in and start it, and I’ll be there in a few hours. I need to make sure she’s okay.”

“She alright?”

“Not great, but I’m hoping this time I can get to her before her mind fucks her over.”

“Dude, whatever you need.”

“Thanks, can you go in and start inventory?”

“Yeah, I’m taking Ella to see Debra her OBGYN, check the baby and make sure everything’s alright, then we can head in and start on it.”

“Thanks, we’ll be there before the club opens, but I just can’t get there for a couple of hours.”

“Yeah, man, don’t worry yourself. I’ve got it covered, look after your girl.”

Kindle Friends Forever 4.5 ★ Review by Sharon Thérèse Nuttall

What a finale to an absolutely marvellous series. Saying that, the author’s storytelling technique had a way of making this reader suffer to the point of thinking about doing the unheard of; throwing her Kindle against the wall! An intriguing plot full of suspense and twist and turns had me sitting on the edge and is exactly my cup of tea. In essence, the author has outdone herself brilliantly regarding the flow between the books. How did she do it? Snippets from the past were cannily added to the storyline helping us remember details which one could have forgotten. Up until now, the leading man’s modus operandi had me asking a lot of questions. I needed answers to the whys and wherefores of his acts and even though I had suspected that he had something up his sleeve in the last book, I wasn’t going to find out what it was at the drop of a hat. Oh boy, does Jett Mayfield come back in full force!

Firstly, The Lover’s Promise was told from Brooke Stewart’s point of view and I must say made me eager to find out why Jett left the love of his life with such a weak excuse because neither Brook nor I had any idea. Regardless of him annoying the pants off me, discovering what really made him tick was an absolute joy. Now he’s given the chance to tell his side of the story which I liked immensely. I’d been on Brookes’ team throughout; however, in this book my connection with Jett was just a matter of on what line should I sign and can’t wait for you to deliver Jett! I had no doubt whatsoever that he would get his act together. Well-knowing Brooke was in danger would mean he’d have to fight with an open heart and for once in his life, be honest. Secretive by nature, how he’s going to delegate the goings on in his personal life became a real dilemma. Always controlling, now he has to have faith in the loyalty and expertise of a friend, and for me, made him bigger than life. Past mistakes weigh heavily, time is running out, and the odds of him bringing down his and Brooke’s enemy is complicated. Complicated being the optimum word.

Jett ~ “It is still my responsibility to protect you, whether you want it or not.”

Brooke has a habit of shying away from problems as we all know from the previous book. But that doesn’t mean that she’s not prepared to look for solutions to move on without Jett in her life. When she discovers her friend meets with the worst, her coping mechanism kicks in and we see a stronger Brooke.

Kenny ~ “She’s a lot stronger than you give her credit for bro.”

I thought she was very brave in parts of the story and was convinced that her reasons for being so generously forgiving was nothing less than true love. And Jett knows this. By giving more of himself, there’s a chance they can build a future together. Tender, compassionate moments touched my heart making a tear or two fall. Does he deserve her after everything they’d been through you? You’ll only find out by reading their story.

Jett ~ “But I’m not that same man anymore, Brooke. The player in me is gone. For what’s it’s worth, meeting you changed me. You made me a better man.”

Whether the secondary characters are the goodies or the baddies, they are all well-developed. I couldn’t help but like Brooke’s bestie who had her back at all times, and is honest about her feeling towards Jett. I love a read when the protagonists’ opinions are told from both sides, too. Banter is of utmost importance and this last book abounds with brilliant one-liners and overflows with emotion. Watching them, because I did feel like I was, strive to find their happy medium was an unforgettable journey of hope and everything one would expect in a story of this calibre. This series hasn’t been an easy ride for the reader, either. Left on tenterhooks in The Lover’s Promise, there are more nail-biting moments of tension than in this last instalment. Bedroom scenes explicitly illustrated which I considered a plus, were scorching hot and an extremely satisfying epilogue leaves me with no option but to say bravo to you Ms Reed.

Title: Command

Author: Nina Levine

Series: Storm MC Series Book 7

Release Date: 18th November, 2015

Betrayal. Destruction. Loss.

The Storm MC is a club in crisis and their new President, Scott Cole, has declared war on their enemy. As Scott takes command, the MC is thrust into the biggest battle in their history – a battle to not only save the club, but the lives of its members.

Harlow James stands behind her man as he takes charge. She’s determined to prove she can be the woman he needs. However, somewhere along the way, she’s lost a piece of herself, and she fights to be strong for him when she feels anything but strong.

As the club descends into chaos, Scott and Harlow are pulled in opposite directions while they try to protect everything that is important to them. Their relationship is tested in ways it never has been, but they cling to the faith they have in each other.

Is faith enough to get you through when all appears to be lost? For Scott and Harlow, it may be the only thing that, in the end, will save them and the club.

Let me start by saying Nina has written a outstandingly emotional and troubled story for Scott and Harlow. Even though this is the seventh book in the Storm Series, it’s Harlow and Scott’s second book and I do suggest you read the series from the beginning.

I must admit this review has been a hard one to write. From personal experience, I know exactly what Harlow was going through. Reading this story had me in tears, my emotions were all over the place and brought back memories that had my stomach twisted in knots. But like every woman and man that go through it with the love of family and friends around them, I got through it, too.

After the devastation of losing a baby, our leading lady is in a dark place and has pushed everyone away including our man Scott. She just can’t seem to find the person she once was. Nevertheless, Scott hasn’t given up on her and at Christmas, manages to get her to see the light and get some professional help. Now then… she might be getting what she needs but why, I asked myself, did she not fully include our man and still struggle from one day to the next. Going back to her artwork seemed to be her therapy and slowly we see the fun loving Harlow come back. Only there is problem that no one senses and as I’m not one to let on, you’ll just have to read the book to find out how events complicate everyone’s lives.

What can I say about our strong alpha male Scott, prez of the MC? I want one! He loves Harlow something fierce and stands by her one hundred percent. He has a lot on his shoulders; Harlow, the club and his family is making his temper wear thin. Things are getting out of hand in the club and trouble is knocking on his door. With the light slowly coming back in his woman’s eyes, can he keep her safe as danger arises? Not everyone is out of harm’s way either. Can they get to their HEA or is this the end for Scott and his club? Here is one of my favourite quotes in this book and it’s from Scott to Harlow.

Quoting with tongue in cheek! “I know I’m a hard-ass, and I probably don’t say shit very well, but I need you to know that the only thing I want is for you to get back to being you. I don’t want you to worry about me or looking after me by cooking and shit; that’s not important at the moment. Let me do all the worrying for the moment; let me help get you through this.”

Not only did this novel have me sobbing my heart out, but it also had me laughing out loud at the new characters I meet. Most of all, the author for me nailed this story with how she wrote the storyline for this novel. Therefore I award it five outstanding stars and congratulate Nina with a job well done. Keep up the good work Nina.

Sexy Snippet

I ran my hand over her ass and up her back. When I found her hair, I took hold and pulled her head back so I could dip my mouth to her neck. Fuck she smells good. I kissed her and as she moaned again, I added my teeth to the kiss, and fuck if she didn’t arch her back and press her front to me harder.

Pulling away, I rasped, “Jesus, woman, I need to get you out of here, otherwise your ass is gonna be planted on that couch and my dick is gonna be buried so far deep in you before you can stop me.”

Her mouth turned up in a grin, but she didn’t say anything.

“What?” I demanded.

“There is no way Scott Cole is going to fuck his woman in front of his club, but I love your enthusiasm. Personally, I think these guys are so involved in their drinking that we could probably have sex on that couch and none of them would even notice.”

I raised my brows. “You wanna see just where Scott Cole would fuck his woman? ‘Cause I’m happy to show you.”

Her grin grew. “I dare you, baby.”

Fuck. She knows me too fucking well and she’s fucking playing me.

I kept my gaze trained on her while I pulled out my phone and called Griff. When he answered, I said, “You guys right if I head home for the night?”

“Yeah, brother. We’ve got it under control. Church is scheduled for ten in the morning and then we’ve got the re-opening of Trilogy tomorrow night.”

My gaze dropped to Harlow’s lips as she licked them, and my dick begged for that tongue. I raised my finger to her lips and closed her mouth, holding my finger there as I replied, “See you in the morning.”

Shoving my phone in my pocket, I growled, “I want you outside. Now.”

Her grin disappeared and gave way to a sexy curl of her lips. Without another word, she turned and began walking outside. My eyes dropped to her ass. The way it swayed under the tight fit of her short, black dress almost made me come in my pants.

That dress is fucking perfect.

I followed her outside and as we walked past the corner of the building, I snagged her around the waist, lifted her to rest against my body and carried her around the corner. I then deposited her on the ground and pushed her up against the building. My hands went to the hem of her dress and I pulled it up to reveal her panties to me. I slid one hand inside to find her pussy while my other hand moved to take hold of her chin.

My eyes found hers and I demanded, “You good if I fuck my woman now?”

‘What’s the Alphabet Game, Gabe?’
‘It’s a little something I thought up once I’d seen how damn smoking hot you are. It’s simple. We take it in turns to name a word following through the letters of the alphabet, but it has to relate to sex in some way.’

In April 2014 I released my first self-published novel, The Alphabet Game. The book is an erotic romance/suspense, with two storylines running through; the cat and mouse game against their mutual enemies and the playing of the sexual alphabet.

I had messages from readers who enjoyed the series and a few said they were going to play it now they’d read it. This got me thinking. What about if I actually put together a companion guide, a bedside table book that you can play?

So here it is. At the back of the book you’ll find a chart to mark off as you go along and a certificate for when you’ve completed all the letters.

KFF’s 5 ★ REVIEW by Sarah Bookhooked

There’s no denying Jane is one of my favourite authors and Semper Fi didn’t fail to be another incredible read.

After reading and loving The Education of Sebastian (TEoS) which took place ten years before The Education of Caroline (TeoC), and both from Caroline’s point of view, Semper Fi is the retelling of The Education of Caroline from Sebastian’s point of view. I’m a big lover of a duel point of view read so when I heard that Jane had written this, I was thrilled that I was not only going to be getting more of Seb, but also his POV. Oh, how I loved to be inside his head and hear this outstanding story in his own words.

Seb was only seventeen when he fell in love with Caro. Caroline was thirty, married, but things weren’t going as well as they should have been for her. You get their back story in the first book, (The Education of Sebastian), which tells us how these two fell for each other and the outcome after being torn apart.

My heart went out for Caro. Her very existence was an absolute nightmare. Controlled by husband and still married to him, she meets up with Sebastian once again. She hadn’t seen him since he was a little boy; now he’s a seventeen year old who had had a rough life no thanks to his parents. So his upbringing wasn’t a great start and it wasn’t made any better after they found out about them being together.

Ten years later, Caro is a journalist and Seb enlisted as a marine. Meeting up anew, it just happens that Seb is preparing to go back to Afghanistan. Even though emotions are at bursting point, little does he know that she will end up reporting in this conflictive war zone. So when he spots her, he realises she is and has always been his one and only true love. How does he win her back? He’s still madly in love with her and prepared to do whatever it takes to get her back and be his forever.

Quote: Seb ~ “Caro, I’ve got seventeen days before I ship out. I’d like to spend them with you. That’s all. If you don’t want to see me after that…well, I guess that’s it.”

But is she prepared to give it another go with Seb?

Quote: Caro ~ “Look, today, tonight—it’s been fun. But like I said to you before, I’m really not looking to get tied down again.

These two go through so much from a road trip where they get to know each other more, to heading out to a combat area together, to a horrible accident and suffering PTSD. Can they both pull through his trauma and get the ending they both deserve? I most certainly felt that they warranted it. For me, the quote below simply sums up his undeniable love for her.

Quote: Seb ~ I looked into her eyes, so she could see the truth of my words. “I love you, Caro, so much. I haven’t changed how I feel. I still love you—I’ve always loved you. It’s only ever been you.”

So my biggest fear was whether or not they would be able to overcome the past and conquer the present? I’ll leave this for you to find out for yourselves in this beautifully written story. Saying that, I am sad that we won’t get any more of Caro and Seb. The ending! Wow, it literally took my breath away. Quite magnificent.

Flawlessly plotted with really good character development, this story, for me, flowed from the beginning to the end with perfection. I can’t wait for the next brilliant piece of writing from Jane. Oh, and one more thing I really must add is the age difference. Loved it!

I love to write.

I was born on the 13th, which explains a lot.

I write every day and get twitchy on the days when I’m prevented from writing.

I live by the beach, so you’ll find a beach scene in all of my books sooner or later.

Hobbies include ogling hot surfers.

Writing is solitary but that doesn’t make it lonely. My FB and Goodreads friends are very important to me. My writing buddies are A. Meredith Walters and Devon Hartford—lovely, kind, generous people.

I carry a notebook EVERYWHERE. I never know when ideas will come to me. I even write notes to myself at night in the dark. Hopefully I can read the scrawl I’ve written in the morning.

There’s a little part of me in every book I write. The philosophy from ‘Playing in the Rain’ is that you have to make the most of the life you’re given—choose to be happy as much as you can and look for the positive. I don’t always make it, but I do try.

“The point of no return.” In contrast to the discomfort of the door handle digging into her back, he smiled sweetly. All Louise could think was she wanted to run her fingers against his mouth. Slide her tongue between his lips. Then he gestured behind to the cab. ‘Before he leaves, you need to decide. I want to fuck you until you can’t stand, but I’m very particular. You need to be okay with giving me what I want.’

‘Are you going to hurt me?’ Her question sounded like an encouragement, but she didn’t consider the implications before his lips slid against hers. Lips against lips, tongue against tongue. Hot, wet, heavy, and promising things to come.

Groaning, he pulled away, signalling silently for the cab to leave.

‘My way,’ he rasped, fingers tight against her chin. ‘Means you wait for an invitation.’

He kissed her hard then, one hand held in his. Sliding the key into the lock, he led her inside, mouth tingling, back aching, meekly dishevelled, but so fucking aroused.

The first sentence of the prologue worried me. However, I was encouraged to read on by my morbid curiosity. Anxious to turn the pages, I found myself picking the book up, putting it down, thinking about it while getting on with other things. I lost sleep and even fell into a slumber with book in hand only to wake up startled. This has to be one of the most difficult and disturbing reads for me yet, so therefore I feel it necessary to warn you that the Lily Anderson’s story is one of child abuse. Strong language and vividly described scenes which literally horrified me, are rife.

One thing is the harsh storyline and another is the author’s writing style which I really liked. Told in first person and present, the linearly fashion used gives the book a continuity. Some parts are Lily’s flashbacks though and this extension of the plot gives the book even more strength if that were ever possible. I loved how her sentences were clipped and precise. I loved how she developed Lily’s character from a six year old to a woman in her midtwenties. I hated what she had to go through to become a person in her own right. Despite so much despair and so little hope, I had every faith in the author’s storytelling abilities. And she didn’t disappoint.

Lily’s father is nothing less than an ogre. It is hard to image what he put her through, how cruel and to what extremes he would go to, to make his daughter suffer. His constant insults and repression form his daughter’s personality which in turn, makes her believe that she is ugly and worthless. She has no friends and no wish for them either. All she wants is to disappear off the face of the earth. Not being noticed means no explanations are called for. Intelligent, she does well at school, but she has never had anyone to value her worth. The reverse.

Quote: Lily’s father ~ “Don’t look at her, she’s a retard. She deserves everything she gets.”

Lily jumps out of the frying pan and into an inferno when she meets a lad who has had his eye on her. Sly, he weaves his way into her life with dishonest intentions. She can’t see further than her nose as this is the first time in her life that someone has lavished her with compliments. She believes in him regardless of the change in his behaviour simply because she doesn’t know any better.

Quote: Trent ~ “Just get on your knees and I’ll do the rest.”

Therefore there are two sides to every story where abuse is concerned; the abused and the abuser. Trent rose my hackles from the very beginning of his relationship with Lily. He quickly susses out all her weaknesses and takes advantage for his own warped benefits. I asked myself where he had learnt to orchestrate such evil and the answer is quite simple. A classic case of like father, like son. Trent inherited all his father’s traits and not one of them was positive.

Quote: Lily ~ “Sometimes it’s better to stay with the devil you know, instead of risking it all on the devil you don’t. Isn’t it?”

It takes a friend Lily makes as a teenager for her to realise that she’s not ugly and far from stupid. Bubbly, generous of spirit and sensible, Shayne was for me, a godsend. Whether or not Lily will take all Shayne’s advice you will only find out by reading this book, but I can assure you that she’ll do her utmost to help her. Another friend that has Lily’s back is Max. Despite having a speech impairment, she understands him perfectly. Indefinitely kind, patient and loving, I couldn’t help but fall for him. As the story unravelled, I also discovered he’d had his demons to cope with. An angel. That’s the only way I can describe him.

“Quote: Max ~ “You’re my snowflake. I’d do anything for you.”

To conclude this full length standalone novel, the secondary characters’ personalities are really well-developed. I adored Lily’s bosses, Shayne’s boyfriend, Liam, although I can’t say thing about Trent’s father, or his father’s brother who disgusted me. When the story reaches one of its most critical points and a hard hand is dealt, I cheered out loud. Another important detail for me was the banter. It is plentiful, disturbing most of the time, beautiful in others. To say the epilogue was made in heaven for Lily and Max would be putting it mildly. I am really looking forward to reading more of your works Ms McHeyser. Bravo!

Last word. Have heaps of man-sized handkerchieves at hand. You’ll need them!

I don’t do ‘normal’.

I’ve found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it’s the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I’ve done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won’t label myself because I don’t like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it’s only for a split second.
I’m a go with the flow sort of person and don’t really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don’t usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I’ll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don’t like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don’t believe that’s necessary, I mean life’s hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I’ve had a hoot writing them. There’s more to come…..
Til next time.
