EXCERPT REVEAL ~ INAPPROPRIATE by Vi Keeland

We are so excited for #1 New York Times bestselling author Vi Keeland’s all-new contemporary romance stand-alone, INAPPROPRIATE, coming 20th January 2020, and today we a sneak peek for you!

Terminated for inappropriate behavior.

I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.

Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.

All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends—a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought…

Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.

I didn’t think he’d actually respond.

I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.

Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.

Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.

But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.

It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.

Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

I wondered if he’d be here.

I was mid-conversation with some former colleagues I hadn’t seen in a few years when I got my answer. The sight of him made me lose my train of thought.

On the other side of the room, Grant Lexington stood wearing a classic black tuxedo. He was talking to an older gentleman, which gave me the opportunity to really take him in—tall, broad shoulders, yet not overly bulky, a narrow waist with one hand resting casually in his pants pocket. Even from a distance, his confidence registered. There was something about the way certain men held themselves that showed they were in charge, and that really worked for me. It could take a man who was a seven and make him an eleven in my book. On the other hand, a handsome ten with a meek personality could be reduced to a five.

Mr. Confident held a drink in his left hand and raised it to his mouth, but he stopped before drinking. He seemed to sense something and looked around the room. When his eyes caught mine, a slow, wicked smile spread across his face. He excused himself from the conversation and strode toward me.

My body tingled as I watched him approach with long strides, and I turned from the group I’d been standing with.

“What a pleasant surprise,” he said.

I tried to appear casual as I sipped my champagne. “I’m filling in for Bickman.”

He nodded. “Of course.”

Grant eyed the group next to me. “Are you here with a date?”

“No. You?”

He smiled and shook his head. “Would a compliment be unwelcome? I wouldn’t want to sexually harass you.”

“Compliments are always welcome, Mr. Lexington.”

His eyes sparkled. Taking hold of my elbow, he led me a few feet away from the group I’d been standing with. “That’s a dangerous thing to say to a man like me.”

“What was the compliment anyway?”

Grant’s eyes swept over me. “You look beautiful tonight.”

I blushed. “Thank you.”

Grant stopped a waiter as he passed. He gulped back the rest of the amber liquid in his glass and slipped the flute of champagne from my hand, setting them both down on the waiter’s tray.

“I was drinking that.”

He motioned for the waiter to move along and returned his attention to me. “I’ll get you more when we’re done.”

“Done with what?”

He held out his hand. “Dance with me.”

I shook my head. “I’m not sure that’s such a good idea.”

He smirked. “I’m fucking positive it’s not.”

CODE OF SILENCE, a brand new Arranged Marriage/Mafia stand-alone romance by Shantel Tessier is LIVE!

Dangerous and feared.

Those words describe my future husband. Who just so happens to also be my ex-boyfriend.

It’s complicated. Two years ago, he broke my heart when he left me to do his father’s bidding. After months of crying, I finally accepted he was gone and wasn’t going to look back. That maybe he’d never loved me at all. I never wanted to see Luca again.

Now a cruel twist of fate has signed me over to him in a heartless deal. I’m his. He thinks he did me a favor, but I feel like I’ve been given a death sentence. He doesn’t want to get married because he still loves me. No, he did it for money. More power.

I’m going to be a mafia wife. And there’s only one way out of it. Death.

But as it turns out, someone else doesn’t want me to marry the ruthless Luca Bianchi. And if he has his way, I’ll see that early grave.

I pick up a glass paperweight and throw it at his head, cussing when I miss him by a mile.

Damn drunk aim. I would have been spot-on if I was sober.

Taking a step back from his desk, I watch as his eyes darken, his jaw sharpens, and his
chest bows. He reaches out, grabbing the netting on my dress, and yanks me forward until

my chest bumps his. “You’re mine,” he growls in my face.
I tremble as the meaning of his words sink in to my foggy brain.
"The contract means I own every inch of you now.”

GETTING OFF EASY by Erin Nicholas is LIVE!

GOE - RB banner.jpg

Today we are thrilled to be sharing Getting Off Easy, an all-new
opposites attract single parent standalone romance from
New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas

GettingOffEasy300.jpg

New Orleans firefighter, James Reynaud’s true love is hanging out in the jazz clubs on Frenchmen Street and playing piano with some of the best musicians in the city. But driving his cute, bookworm neighbor Harper Broussard crazy is right up there on his list of favorite things.

The buttoned-up linguistics professor across the hall is a little older, a lot smarter, and way too good for him. And she knows it. But wow is she beautiful when she blushes.

She’s equally gorgeous when she’s saving his butt. Because now things just got serious. A baby has been, literally, dropped off on his doorstep and to say he’s in over his head is an understatement. Not that Harper knows anything about babies either. But at least they now have something in common.

This contemporary romance featuring a slightly older woman and a younger man is book four of the Boys of the Big Easy and can be read as a standalone.

The author wonderfully created James Reynard as the perfect book boyfriend. He is a fire-fighter, a talented musician and not to mention the dependable guy whom everybody goes to when they need someone to help them out. You can’t help but swoon for this man.

Harper Broussard, an accomplished linguistics professor likes everything in order; she has a plan A, B and C in every situation. She has never been in love and is quite happy reading her romance books. Although she is very much aware of her hottie neighbour, she brushes off his obvious attempts at flirting until someone left a baby outside his door. Now she found herself roped in into helping him solve his dilemma.

The first half of the book was quite slow and I had to push myself into reading it further along. Thank goodness there was more exciting banter after 50%. But I give the author extra points in character development. The narrative style switches back from six months ago to the present every chapter which was clearly defined and not at all confusing.

As Harper overthought a lot of things, I sometimes felt like skimming through the paragraphs simply because I was dying to know what would happen next. It is quite ironic that for a woman who loves romance novels, her reaction was not quite heartfelt when she decided that James was the one for her. Maybe it is because she tries too hard in analysing her decisions and feelings that she comes off as too clinical.

It does get more interesting when they go on a mission to look for the baby’s mother, but I had some issues with the way they finally hooked up. The chemistry between these two can’t be denied but I longed for a more sweeping romance which I felt James deserved. The events that followed are quite hectic and makes up for the slow start but it was definitely worth the slog. I loved the epilogue and it all ends up in happy tears which that’ll make you quite emotional. A light-hearted story perfect for a lazy weekend read.
