KISS ME NOT by Emma Hart is available now!

What do you do when you’re the reigning kissing booth champion but the only person you want to kiss is your best friend’s brother?

Kiss Me Not, an all-new hilarious brother’s best friend romance from New York Times bestselling author Emma Hart is available now!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00027]

Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women.

Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin’-uh.

I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain—making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.

Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.

He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls racoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.

I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign—no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:

Kiss me.

Another delightful romantic comedy from the queen of romcoms, the first book in Kiss Me series will tickle your funny bone and make you swoon at Preston.

Preston Wright’s family owns the successful floral shop in the small town of Creek Falls. He is also the older brother of Reagan, Halley’s best friend. Preston, the most eligible bachelor in town and Halley, the mayor’s daughter don’t seem to get along. And then they find themselves as competitors in the annual town fair’s Kissing Booth fundraiser. Will they finally kiss and make up or make out?

Halley Dawson is the sexy librarian and is also known as the crazy raccoon lady of Creek Falls. She has been the Kissing Booth champ for the last four years and she doesn’t plan to relinquish that title to Preston. But spending time together might just thaw out her coldness towards him.

Narrated in dual points of view, this romantic comedy is a pleasure to read. Preston and Halley’s chemistry are undeniable. Preston is the swoony hero whose smouldering looks will set your knickers on fire. He is rich and doesn’t sleep around, he is just perfect! There are so many funny moments and hilarious dialogue amongst the characters that will make you giggle.

This book is full of memorable characters: Halley’s best friends Ava and Reagan, the two eccentric grandmas and Halley’s regular night time guests, a family of raccoons whose needs are catered to by the kind-hearted heroine. This is a slow burn romance and the only sexy scenes are at the last chapter but it is worth the wait, sometimes less is more and I am glad that the author made it that way considering the timeline of the story. This trio of sassy, smart and independent ladies are such unforgettable characters and I cannot wait to read Ava and Reagan’s stories.

TTAC_eBook_1600While I was off pitching in the big leagues, my family was back in the small town of Sweetwater, Texas, running the family ranch. Then tragedy hit and I discovered there were secrets that my family kept, problems they hid. I went home, left behind the money, women, and fame. I took over the ranch and took care of my grandmother. I took over hiding the secrets. Then she came to town. A smart-mouthed, clumsy, too-smart-and-too-pretty-for-my-own-good city girl hiding out to write a book. She’s right here, on my property, in the cottage my grandmother rented her without my permission, and she sees too much. She knows too much.

Now suddenly my world is spinning, and she’s shoving a baseball back in my hand while baking cookies with my grandmother. She’s the devil and an angel all in one fiery little package. I decide I’ll wait her out. She’ll go back to the city. Only suddenly I don’t want her to leave, and everything I’ve settled for in my life isn’t enough. Infuriation and mistrust never before have been so much fun to watch. Jessica and Jason rocked the pages of this book in so many fantastic ways.

Tearing away from the big city looking for somewhere to hide and lick her wounds, Jessica ends up in Sweetwater, Texas. All things considered, not really the best place to go to considering how things between her and Jason started off.

Jason has the entire world on his shoulders. Living life for everyone but himself, hearing his story left a lump in my throat the size of a plum. To see and feel what he overcame, well, the story takes on a life of its own.

Whilst reading this book I realised what it is I enjoy about small-town romances. The familial connections, the heart, this series like no other I have adored this year and a grandmother to remember, one who ram-raided right through the pages.

So different and yet so very similar; Jessica and Jason are two halves of the same coin. Toing and froing like a well-matched tennis tournament. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down. There were so many emotions I felt whilst immersed between the pages, I can’t regret any of it.

Thank you, Ms. Jones, for a wonderful adventure in good ol’ Texas.

This is the second book in the series Getting Lucky and features the second brother Rogan, although I haven’t read the first book with Griffin as the main character this second instalment can be read as a standalone.

Rogan is the second of four brothers and a successful businessman. He had dreams of becoming a pro football player, but that didn’t happen and his failed relationship with his former best friend made him a workaholic and bitter. The reappearance of his ex-fiancée has set the tongues wagging in their small town and everyone but him seem to be rooting for them to get back together.

Harper grew up with Rogan and from best friends, they became lovers and got engaged. When Rogan got involved in an accident, their relationship went downhill and they broke up. Now that she’s back in their small town all she wants is to get on with her life, but Rogan’s family and her dad are masters at meddling and she keeps on bumping into Rogan. Will she give him another chance although it looks like he doesn’t even want to be near her?

“Broken love can be mended, but it takes work, understanding and appreciation for each other’s journey.”

This best-friends-to-lovers/second-chance romance is as entertaining as any Meghan Quinn love story. Told in dual points of view, this light-hearted tale with a splash of angst tells the story of two individuals who were destined to be together but a life-changing event scuppered that dream.

Rogan in the first half of the book was a jerk to Harper and there were times when I could have kicked him in the nuts because of his behaviour, he was just mean. Harper, on the other hand, could have been a stronger character but as a twenty-eight-year-old woman, she is aimless and drifting. Rogan’s only saving grace was the way he tried to get her back in the last quarter of the book. His other brothers Griffin, Reid and Brigg provide the amusing banter that made me giggle at times. The family dynamics and the whole small-town vibe add a charming touch to Rogan and Harper’s romance, a perfect read on a lazy afternoon.

There is no way in hell she’s here.

My family isn’t that cruel. Right?

From my car, I try to gauge the number of bodies in my parents’ house through the windows. Ugh, I can’t see shit.

She can’t possibly be at family dinner. My family loves Harper, but they wouldn’t invite her, not after I called my mom the other day, telling her to put her matchmaking skills to rest. She just chuckled but reassured me she knew what she was doing. Whatever the hell that means.

I was very adamant about leaving Harper alone. The Knightlys can be too much at times, and I’m sure we’re the last thing she needs right when she’s trying to settle back into town.

Resigning myself to the inevitable, I retrieve my keys from the ignition and make my way to the front door. Hand on the doorknob, I take a deep breath and walk into the house I grew up in. The warm walls and carefully hung family pictures greet me first, followed by my family’s raucous laughter emanating from the back of the house.

I remove my shoes and hang my suit jacket on the coat hanger by the front door before cautiously making my way down the long hallway to the connected kitchen and large dining room. Ren, Griffin’s girlfriend, is the first to spot me. She gives me a small smile and a little wave. The rest of the family is scattered around the kitchen as usual, getting in my parents’ way as they try to finish up the dinner prep.

Griffin sees me next. “Ah, you finally decided to join us.” He checks his watch. “I think that was eight minutes in the car. Who had eight minutes?”

Reid raises his hand and hops off the counter, grabbing a bowl from the center of the table and pocketing the wad of cash inside. “I know him too well.” Reid pats me on the back and slips me a one-dollar bill. “Here, this is for you. Thanks for taking eight minutes to prepare yourself to come in the house. Daddy is going to buy a new pair of jeans.” He pats his pockets.

Ignoring everyone and their stupid bet, I pop the fridge door open and grab a water. Reid joins me, sticking his head in the fridge so I’m forced to look at him. “Aren’t you going to ask?”

“Ask what?” I grit out.

“If she’s here. I know that’s why you were hanging out in your car, debating if you should come in or not.”

My skin prickles, and I brace myself for the answer as I shut the fridge door. “Is she here?” I hiss.

Slowly, Reid smiles and nods. “Yup, she’s in the bathroom.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I angrily squeeze my water bottle, nearly popping the top off. “Why? Why is she here?”

Reid shrugs. “I don’t know, maybe because she wants to be here.”

“Who invited her? Was it Mom?” I don’t wait for an answer. Instead, I walk over to the culprit, who’s hovering over the stove, stirring a huge pot of chili.

“Oh, hey, sweetie. Cornbread is in the oven, honey is in the crock, and I also got tortilla chips because I know how much you like crumbling them in your chili.”

“Mom, why did you invite her? I told you to leave her alone, to leave usalone.”

“What are you talking about?” My mom looks me up and down and then goes back to the chili.

“Harper. I asked you not to invite Harper.”

The bathroom door opens, and Jen pops out, rubbing her hands together. “Did he come in yet?” Her eyes light up as she spots me. “What time was it?”

“Eight minutes. Reid won.”

Disappointed, she snaps her fingers. “Damn, I for sure thought I was going to win.”

Confused, I turn back to my mom. “Harper isn’t here?”

“No, of course not. I wouldn’t invite her so early. She needs time to settle. What made you think she was here?”

I whip around to find Reid leaning against the kitchen wall, arms crossed and with a giant grin on his face. I point at him. “You better run, because I’m going to fucking kill you.”

Like a bolt of lightning, he takes off, and I chase after him, nothing but pure murder on my mind.
