Today we are delighted to be sharing Devney Perry’s all-new contemporary romance in the stand-alone Lark Cove Series, TINSEL

Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, she’s lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy.

She’s nothing more than tinsel.

Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesn’t get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, she’s put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Magee—a man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

Don’t miss the special release-week price of $3.99. It will go up to the regular $4.99 price after the first week.

Sadly, this stand-alone series has reached an end with Tinsel, but what a marvellous send off! Once again, we’re transported back to the small town of Lark Cove, Montana, a picture-book journey with all its enchantment. The cameo appearances of characters we’d learnt to love, appear just when the story demands never hindering the reader’s enjoyment.

If you’ve read Tattered, you’ll be familiar with Sophia, Logan Kendrick’s sister. Can’t say I liked this lass much then but wait, her demeanour is deceiving. I think the word ‘spoilt’ is a tad inappropriate for her, misled fitting her better. How many of us went through the princess phrase when we were young? I certainly did! It shouldn’t last long, it’s forgotten and life takes its course. Sophia didn’t seem to me to break out of her cocoon because on her mother and father’s part, I felt a lack of encouragement to do so. I even agreed with one of her siblings who thought she was capricious and wrapped up in herself.

‘Seriously? Could you at least try not to embarrass us?’

Feeling down and out for reasons I couldn’t possibly divulge, off she goes to Lark Cove to lick her wounds. Now then, I have to give kudos to her sister-in-law. All said and done, if it weren’t for Thea’s craftiness and faith in Sophia, there wouldn’t have been a story! Would her surrogate boss be as sure as Thea? He’s in for a surprise; there’s nothing shallow about our heroine considering she’s about to have a wake-up call and believe you me, watching her spread her wings was a joy in itself.

“If you are trying to teach her some kind of lesson, let’s not put your business at risk. She’ll flake out.”

I can’t put into words how much I liked the rich gal meeting up with a proud working-class American Indian who I’d already had the pleasure of meeting. Seeing as Dakota Magee respects his family, it would be a tad harsh to say his role in a traditionally tight-knit community was wrong. His story was without a doubt an eye-opener for me, and I could clearly see that Perry had done her homework. He’d had the courage to break free with the help of a relative, his plans for the future and what life had to offer him made me embrace his enthusiasm! He’s drool-worthy too, so hang on to your panties ladies ‘cause this guy is hotter than hot!

‘His moral fiber ran so deep it was ingrained in his very being. With him, there were no games. No tricks. No ulterior motives.’

Not surprisingly, inner conflicts arise. I could see why Dakota wanted to make it on his own; his thoughts keeping me intrigued created quite a bit of angst too. How he would cope with family pressure, and his concern for an outsider being accepted in a culture which has steadfast traditions, caused him to reconsider his place in society. So, would he listen to his heart or to return to his roots? Hmm…there was quite a twist in the story here, making me hold my breath.

‘I admire my culture, my family tradition. But I wanted more. I wanted my freedom.’

Sizzling chemistry between the protagonists leaps off the pages and true to Perry’s style, the steaminess is tastefully written. Although Sophia bewilders and astonishes Dakota at every turn, certain issues contribute to unrest. Is he interested in her healthy bank account? Can she trust him? Seeing as their situation is a complicated one, plenty of hurdles have to be resolved if they’re going to have a chance at happiness. But what I like more than anything was how Dakota brought out the best in her which up until their sensitive relationship began, had been well-hidden.

“Her money was still an issue for me. Her heritage.”

The author’s heartwarming romance not only ticked all the right boxes but more important, stirred all my emotions. For me, the narrative in past tense from a dual point of view was perfectly balanced, giving the reader every opportunity to really get to know how Dakota and Sophia felt. If you looking for a read which gives overwhelming feelings of love, this one is for you. Bravo Perry!

“I’m never going to be able to provide you the life you’re used to.”

THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is LIVE!

Today we have the release day blitz of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE! Check out this fun new romance and grab your copy today!

“Chicks can’t be bodyguards. Especially hot chicks.”

MY NAME IS MITCH HOFER. I’m a world-famous swimmer from Australia, best known for three things: my gold medals, my looks, and filling out a swimsuit with my…eh-hem—bulky equipment. Let’s just say there’s a reason my nickname is “the Bulge.”

But beyond the fame, sponsors, and glory, there’s more to me than people know, including one hell of a mess I’ve gotten mixed up in. Life-or-death stuff, so bring in the professionals. Just don’t give me a chick bodyguard. Especially a young hot one who distracts me at every turn and hates my guts…

MY NAME IS ABI CARTER, and I hate Mitch Hofer. Yeah, he might be the sexiest champion swimmer in the world, but I’d give this guy a gold medal for being a first-class jerk.

Unfortunately, my boss has given me a choice—guard Mitch or get another job. And I really need the money. I can be professional, but if Mitch says “chicks can’t be bodyguards” one more time, I just might strangle him myself.

Still, something about the way Mitch keeps looking at me makes me think there’s more to his story. It’s almost as if he’s trying to drive me away. But why?

If you could pick one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Driven or feisty?

If you’d asked me a few years ago, I would have said shy. Seriously, turtles had nothin’ on me. I was the girl in school who always pushed her hair down around her face, sat in the back of the classroom, and rarely raised her hand. I never would’ve described myself as brave. Or deadly.

Of course, I’m all grown up now, nearly twenty-two, and I can’t afford to be that girl anymore. Especially because I need money. A lot of it. Which is why I’m standing in the slushy mud after hiking seven hours in the freezing Alaskan snow while carrying a fifty-pound pack filled with survival gear. This is the world’s toughest job interview, but if I pass, I’ll make three times what I could anywhere else.

A projectile whizzes past my ear, and I plunge headfirst into a thick pile of snow between two towering pines. Jesus! Who am I kidding? I’m no GI Abi! I’m a certified geekoid. President of the Star Trek Uhura Club, avid romance-book lover, cowbell player in my university’s beginners’ band, and the founder of Business is Sexy enthusiast group who promotes business and finance majors among the women’s clubs on campus. All these groups are new endeavors for me—my way of trying to be more social—so I can learn to love new things.

Okay. Most new things. This bodyguard bootcamp? Possibly a huge mistake.

Of course, I’m not naïve. I know that life rarely turns out the way people expect. When my father died of a heart attack about six years ago, I never imagined how much I’d miss him. Suddenly, this man who used to drive me crazy with his lectures about grabbing the bull by the horns became the one person no man could ever compare to. Losing him made me see how special he was and how lucky we were to have him—something my mother knew for years.

After he died, her life began falling apart. Not because she wallowed or felt sorry for herself. Not even. She is a pillar of strength, both as a human being and as the owner of an interior design company. Her misfortunes have all been a series of random events—some horrible client who spent one hundred K on custom furniture and design work then decided to sue for his money back because his new girlfriend didn’t like the style. That same week, there was a flood in her warehouse and her insurance company went under. Fabrics, curtains, pillows, and her entire house-staging inventory for the realtor clients. Gone. It’s been one disaster after another, but she still manages to keep a high chin and a wide smile.

Honestly, her can-do attitude is what inspired me to apply for a job as a bodyguard. I’m fighting for a chance to get our mortgage back to square, pay for my final semester of college, and keep her interior design business from tanking. If I’m lucky, I’ll run my own business someday, too.

I remove my dirty white parka, toss it to the snow-covered ground, and press my back to a wide tree trunk. I’m frozen to the bone, but my camo thermal shirt will blend in better with the bark.

One more kill, Abi. Just one more, and this will all be over. No, I’m not really going to kill anyone. But I do have to tag one more trainer with my airsoft rifle. Otherwise, I fail bootcamp. I’m all out of ammo, so after this last pellet, it’s game over.

“You got this, girl,” I whisper to myself, ignoring the aches in my back, legs, and arms from crouching and crawling over rocks and frozen branches.

I hear my target’s soft footsteps crunching through the freshly fallen snow. This is it. Steady. Keep calm…I wrap my frozen pink finger around the trigger and hold my breath. You got this, Abi. You got this.

Suddenly, I hear more footsteps approaching to my left. And to my right! They’ve been tracking me all day, and now I’m surrounded.

Just like I’d hoped. Because sometimes life hands you lemons. And other times it hands you grenades.

I smile, reach into my pocket, and grab my pellet bomb. Abi’s graduating today, boys!
