We are so excited to be sharing Piper Rayne’s all-new contemporary romance, LESSONS FROM A ONE-NIGHT STAND, now available with all retailers!
If you find yourself having banged your new boss—the principal—in the back of your Jeep one drunken night, here’s a few takeaways based on my experience…
Lesson One: Always get her FULL name.
Lesson Two: Consider asking what she does for a living.
Lesson Three: Find out why she’s moved to town. Get details. Details are crucial.
Lesson Four: Don’t alter her bio in front of an auditorium of high school students unless you know she has a sense of humor for that sort of thing.
Lesson Five: If you ignore Lesson Four, apologize instead of flirt when you’re sent to the principal’s office.
Lesson Six: NEVER sleep with her again.
Lesson Seven: Pay attention to this one—it’s the most important of them all.
Don’t fall for your one-night stand.

Lake Starlight Alaska. One; I love the name of this town. Two; I love a small town romance. Three; I love a romance in Alaska. This one ticked all the guilty pleasure boxes I love in a read.
The Baileys have a very interesting family dynamic. Years before the book starts, they lose both their parents in a freak accident. Austin stepped up to raise his younger siblings, whilst his sister Savannah stepped up to run the family business. With all nine siblings under one roof, I can only imagine how noisy it was at times. Ear plugs for an outsider must have been a necessity.
A one-nighter with a stranger he met in a bar leads Austin down a path he never expected. Especially with the near future plans, he has in the works. Holly had no intentions of being in town for longer than the rest of the school year and how could she ever have expected her one-night stand worked at the same school? Holly has a secret, a secret only her best friend Dana knows and to be honest with you that entire storyline angered me on Holly’s behalf. Will I add any more? Nope. Read the book.
Austin deals with family dramas on the daily. If it isn’t one sibling or the other, it’s the twins. Nearing the finish line with his guardianship duties, he has all the air and grace of a de-crowned beauty queen.
‘Returning home and taking responsibility for my family paints me as a saint to most. I’m not a saint. I’m a guy who stepped up to the plate for the people he loves the most.’
Holly and Austin are a perfect match. Highly intelligent, orientated people; as a couple, they would be a force to be reckoned with. Their journey is one of angst and denial. Self-denial. What they know to be right and what they desire is a constant battle. I lost count how many times they had me so frustrated I just wanted to scream. No A to B for these two, all over the map covers their build up just right.
“I think there’s a reason why people say chase your dreams. Dreams don’t knock on your door one day and announce that they’re ready for you.”
“You deserve to live the life you want.”
I love large families and small towns. I loved this large family and their little town. The secondary characters were as gripping and real as they get. I wait with bated breath to see what unfolds for the rest of the Bailey siblings. I do have one question for the authors of this guilty pleasure. Will we ever find out who writes the Buzz Wheel?
