“Corinne Michaels never fails to deliver stories full of heartbreak and healing. If I Only Knew swept me away. A beautiful romance, a story of everlasting friendships, this book is not to be missed.” – Bestselling Author, Devney Perry
If I Only I Knew, an all-new heartwarming and sexy standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Corinne Michaels is live!
My life was perfect – until a shocking tragedy pulled the rug out from underneath me.
My children were left without a father. I was without a husband and a provider. Instead of wallowing in my grief, I buried myself in my work at Dovetail Enterprises. Landing the promotion as the CEO’s right hand was exactly what I needed.
Getting saddled with Milo Huxley as an assistant is exactly the opposite.
I can’t stand him.
He’s arrogant, irresponsible, and out for my job. As if that’s not bad enough, he has to be devastatingly sexy, and have a posh English accent that makes me squirm on top of it all. I’ve had enough unpredictability for one lifetime, thank you.
But soon enough, we’re fighting less and laughing more. He’s there for me when no one else is. And those good looks aren’t the only panty-dropping thing about him.
If I only knew what to do about it . . .

I have read Kristin’s (One Last Time), Heather’s (We Own Tonight) and Nicole’s (Not Until You) stories and I adore these women. I feel like they are my best friends and now we finally get to read Danielle’s story. Despite being standalone reads, these women are very much involved in each other’s books.
Danielle’s life was turned upside down a couple of years ago and she was barely surviving as a parent to her children Ava and Parker. She has no choice but to plod on and so far managed to hold the fort together. The day Milo, her boss’s younger brother turned up in her office, she felt even more off-kilter, especially when she reluctantly ended up working with him. Milo is hot and charismatic, absolutely over-qualified for his post and definitely gunning for her job, yet she has mixed feelings about him.
Milo is the happy-go-lucky kind of guy and that is why he can’t get along with his brother Callum. He comes and goes with nary a care to the world and when he heard that he lost his VP post to another relative, he confronts Callum but instead finds himself working for Danielle. He wants her but he also wants her job. Decisions, decisions what a tough choice eh?
Told in alternating points of view, this emotional romance has a lot of good points. Danielle’s strong character development, the cohesive plot and sassy banter between the close friends make this a great read. However, I felt that the last quarter of the book was a bit rushed…as if the author has ticked a few boxes, dusted her hands off and that was it. Milo, a forty-one-year-old guy who has never been in any serious relationships, suddenly turns into a romantic and swoony hero who sweeps Danielle off her feet.
Yes, the sex scenes were hot but I wished there had been more of an emotional connection in this couple. Even though this is Dani’s book; her friends play a big part in her story, one of the reasons why I like this “series” of standalones. But I am also a bit sad that this is the last for this circle of friends. Dani and Milo’s love story is all about compromise, sacrifice and taking the risk for a second chance at love, just the right book to curl up into on a cold and lazy weekend.
