BESTSERVEDCOLD-finalcover

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Which is a real problem when the attraction runs red-hot.

Ice-cream store owner Raelynn Fortune has everything but her last name—fortune.

Despite living in a Floridian hotspot for tourists, she just can’t get her business back off the ground. And she knows why.

Her rival store next door is run by nobody other than her ex, and with his fancy-schmancy concoctions, he’s taking all the clients two generations of her family cultivated. Never mind that Raelynn taught him all he knows, and his revenge for her breaking up with him was putting her plans into reality—and her almost out of business.

But, she has a plan. The height of the season is just two weeks away, and she’s tired of playing second fiddle to her ex. She’s going to take back her crown as the queen of ice cream, even if it means getting close to Chase once again.

After all, all is fair in love and war, and you know what they say about keeping your enemies close…

Although maybe Chase is a little too close…

REVIEWED BY ANNA ON BEHALF OF KFF

This light-hearted romance tells the story of Raelynn, owner of Best Served Cold ice cream parlour who felt the need for payback when her ex-boyfriend Chase pulled the rug under her feet.

Told in dual points of view, this almost angst-free drama deals mainly with Raelynn’s long-standing grudge against Chase. They used to be the perfect couple but due to circumstances surrounding Rae’s family, she split up with Chase. She thought that her main priority should be the struggling family business and dumping Chase was the right thing to do. But when Chase opened another ice cream parlour right next door to hers, her need to take revenge was somewhat justified. There were times though when she was so annoying because of her constant whining about Chase to her best friend Sophie. Surely two years of ignoring him and her dead-to-me attitude is just making the chip on her shoulder harder to bear?

Chase, the hero of this book can be a jerk sometimes but his heart is in the right place except for when he stupidly set up shop next to Rae’s. After two years of dead silence and snarky attitude from Rae, is he going to finally confront her and get closure?

Rae and Chase’s long-running feud blows hot and cold. The sizzling hot sex scenes between this pair not only melted Rae’s ice cream unicorns and mermaids but also guaranteed to melt your heart and knickers. The cold war (pun intended) between Rae and Chase is made even more interesting when the secondary characters like Rae’s grandparents, her best friend Sophie and Chase’s younger sister Marnie were thrown in. The witty banter and dirty talk will make you giggle, snigger and snort. There isn’t much of a plot twist on this one; however, this book offers you perfect chemistry between the protagonists and mouth-watering ice cream concoctions that won’t make you gain weight, what more could you ask for?
