The perfect man for her is the one she hates most. #gofigure
Dating is hard.
Dating in your thirties is even harder.
Dating in Chicago is harder still.
I haven’t given up on finding my happily-ever-after, but in the age of swiping right and Netflix and chill, I’m wondering if everything is as temporary as my marriage turned out to be.
Truth is, there is one guy I can’t get my mind off of.
Roarke Baldwin has salt and pepper hair I’ve dreamed of running my hands through and I’m pretty sure that if I checked he really does have a six pack of abs underneath his suit. And I’ve always wondered what that stubble on his face would feel like between my thighs.
The problem? He’s the one man I hate more than my ex-husband…
His divorce attorney.

I can sum Happy Hour up in one sentence, it’s as good as the blurb sounds. How could any reader not be hooked by the blurb for this one?

I’ll be honest, I missed reading the first two books for this series (Manic Monday and Afternoon Delight); did this detract anything from this swoon worthy read? Answer: not in the least. Did I find Chelsea, Victoria, and their sexy men less because I hadn’t read their stories? Not at all. I am wishing I had read them though, purely from the fact that both Reed and Dean appear so perfect that I’m dying to find out if they have any blemishes or scuffs on them.
Happy Hour became one of those little gems that a reader finds so infrequently. The ones where the characters appear human and their personalities shine so bright that each interaction between them comes across as if the reader is actually sitting around the table lapping up the zingers as they’re thrown back and forth.
I adored the interplay in this book. There were so many funny moments to enjoy. Happy Hour runs the gambit of emotions and at times, doesn’t take itself seriously. Though when it comes to the main characters, their emotions felt so real that they left me with goosebumps more than once.
“Why do I feel like you have more to add?”
“That was just my opening statement. I have more to add.” I playfully roll my eyes. “I can only imagine what you’re going to say now.” He clears his throat.
“I’ll make it short.”
“Short doesn’t seem like your style.”
I’ll be sure to keep an eye on these authors in the future. Thank you and congratulations.
