The British Knight, an all-new contemporary romance by Louise Bay is LIVE!!!
The British Knight by Louise Bay
Release Date: December 5th
Genre: Contemporary Romance
When I’m offered the chance to leave New York to live in London for three months, I can’t pack my suitcase fast enough.
As soon as I touch down I’m obsessing over red telephone boxes, palaces and all the black cabs.
But my favorite place is the tube. It’s wall-to-wall hot British men in suits.
When I’m offered a temporary job working for a barrister, I say, sign me up.
On my first commute into work, it’s a total accident when I lose my balance and fall against the most handsome Brit alive. He’s as charming as James Bond and as suave as Mr. Darcy. I want to lick tea from his hard abs and listen to his accent all night long.
Turns out Mr. Handsome is my new boss. And his attitude isn’t as hot as his gorgeous face, broad shoulders and tight ass. He’s brooding, short-tempered and the most arrogant man I’ve ever met.
As we’re fighting, out of nowhere he kisses me. And I’m pretty sure I see fireworks over Big Ben and hear God Save the Queen.
I wasn’t looking for the fairytale but I might have found my knight in shining armor. The problem is he lives an ocean away.

As always, Bay is true to her writing modus operandi. All her contemporary romances are standalones, but I can’t put into words how much I loved the reappearance of other characters from previous releases giving me that déjà vu experience. She does it in such a canny way that for those of you who haven’t read King of Wall Street, Park Avenue Prince or Duke of Manhattan will want to! And the book cover is no less titillating than the others!
Overall, The British Knight is a superb read; however, a third of the way in and I was itching for something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. At this point, I’d found the story’s pacing a tad slow, but it could well have been my impatience to ascertain how Alexander Knightly and Violet King’s story was going to pan out. I shouldn’t have been so concerned though. Halfway in and it had me engrossed! Regardless of the sizzling attraction written ‘à la Bay’ which I have to say, is brought out in full force, there’s a hell of a lot of ruminating going on; adding, of course, to the intrigue! Hence, the author’s narrative par excellence in past from both protagonists perspectives certainly gave me every opportunity to delve into her characters’ verbal stream of consciousness. Believe you me, it’s totally worth listening to their plans for the future! Do they coincide? Hmm…that’s for you to fathom out in a story that’s not new but most certainly has its hook effect.
Alexander’s negative traits. It’d be easy to make a list as long as my arm; nonetheless, I’d much rather you meet this drop-dead gorgeous barrister and fathom them out for yourselves. I couldn’t help but like the man. Even though him being a workaholic and work ethics worried me to the point of frustration, his ideals were replaced with an infinite number of truly positive intentions. His controlling attitude at work contradicted his true personal feelings. It’s difficult to dispute someone so head-strong, who has to live up to personal expectations for one reason or another. Always partial to a suit, white shirt and tie, Alex wears them to fit like a second skin. Was his attire a false pretense? Did he know any better?
Violet. My-oh-my! Love at first sight would be putting it mildly. My kind of American heroine who has her head on her shoulders, who is all for the London experience. The first thing that came to mind is once bitten with a huge bite and try to forget about the past! So how did this gal verging on insolent grab me? Her backbone! Her being true to her beliefs and never wavering. An opportunity given with a bit of cajoling and she steps into an unknown ambience with her head high literally bowled me over. Intelligent and unpretentiously beautiful, she grasps the job offered with a no nonsense approach. Quite honestly, it was a joy to see her in action. Especially how she dealt sassy sarcasm out to Alexander who couldn’t have made her life more difficult. She’s a winner in my book, but…there is so much more than meets the eye in a love story of two totally contrasting people.
Bay seduces the reader with her thrilling storytelling. She makes you sit back and think; she makes you pay attention, want to know more about the whys than the wherefores. Four strong stars for this sizzling romance which I highly recommend one-clicking! Bravo Ms Bay!
