Review : Distraction by Emily Snow

At the ripe old age of twenty-eight, Jamie Armstrong is sick of douchebags like the PA who told her she has an “ass made for screwing” on the first date. She wants commitment, and she’s got a list that she’s anxious to check off.

Baby (preferably twins, because two’s company).

Then she meets Mateo Bailon.

An attorney with a penchant for chains and kink, Mateo isn’t looking for commitment and he sure as hell doesn’t want marriage. Not again. He wants a distraction—a new way to forget his past—and Jamie’s his favorite kind of drug.

He just never counted on getting addicted.

This was a new author for me and I have to say the blurb alone was what reeled me in.

Mateo Bailon is a gorgeous, sinfully attractive attorney who was very good at throwing parties. Only these parties weren’t your normal kind of party. His parties were the special kind that included sex and kink.

Jamie Armstrong is a fierce, strong independent 28 year old woman who is forever dating Mr Wrong. She is looking for the perfect guy and all that he comes with; Love, marriage and babies.

One simple mistake by Jamie’s best friend Lucy turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to Mateo. Only we knew it was going to take him most of book to realise this. A photograph finding him in a compromising position is where this story begins. Inadvertently sent to many and not just to the one recipient it was intended for, Jamie. Oops!

Rule number one. Check before you send otherwise you can find yourself in an embarrassing situation as did Mateo. When Jamie and Mateo first connect with each other Jamie isn’t impressed. Why would she be? This was a guy who throws sex parties. Even though this was something she had never done herself, she found herself quite intrigued by the idea and him. And I have to say the feeling seemed to be mutual. The only problem was Mateo didn’t want anything permanent. Why? Whilst Jamie was looking for commitment Mateo was looking for a distraction. You could tell that something was holding him back and that there was more to it than just simply not wanting to be in a relationship with any woman; Let alone Jamie. Would these two people who belonged together make that happen? Would Jamie uncover the secrets that were hidden deep within Mateo. Would they both get their happy ending? Questions that will be answered.

The sexual chemistry between these two was hot and you could tell that by the way the pages sizzled in some scenes of the book. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to fellow readers and friends. The story line kept my interest the entire time. It was well written and the story flowed throughout. Congratulations to the author. Five stars that are well deserved.
