Excerpt:

A hand on my arm stirs me from my deep musings. “Lucas, are you okay?”

My head turns and I find Charlotte standing beside me. The first thing I
notice are her large tits and how close they are to touching my arm. If I
shift a fraction of a step to the side I could feel them press against me.
My eyes move up over her delicate collarbones. I want to place a kiss
between them and then lick my way up her graceful neck until I reach her
red mouth. Fuck me. She has the mouth of a fucking porn star. I wonder if
she sucks dick like one?

“Lucas.” She rubs my arm, pulling me back to the present.

My eyes leave her enticing lips and raise up to meet her enthralling blues
and I finally find my voice. “Yeah, I’m fine.” I turn to face her, our
gazes never breaking contact. With her heels she stands only a few inches
shorter than my six foot one inch frame and the tips of her breasts are
pointing at my chest. Being this close to her has my dick hard. I’ve never
had such a strong reaction to a woman before. A few seconds in her company
and my cock’s ready and waiting.

“Can I get you anything?” she asks, rubbing my arm again.

That’s a loaded question if I ever heard one.

“I don’t know. Can you?”

Her hand falls from my arm. “If you want something, I’ll get it for you.”

I inch forward until her tits are touching my chest. Her eyes go wide. “I
want a lot of things Charlie.” I let my hand caress over the curve of her
hip down to the top of her ass as I reach behind her to pick up the refill
the waitress placed there for me a few minutes ago. I take a step back,
lifting the drink toward my mouth. “Right now I just want another beer.” My
lips close around the bottle and I take a large gulp. Jesus. I need a cold
shower after being this close to her.

Her porn star lips open in a silent oh at my reply. She flashes me a tight
smile and looks down at the diamond encrusted Rolex on her wrist. “The limo
will be here in twenty minutes to pick us up.”

I nod my head before tipping back the beer. If I drink this one straight
down I’ll have time for one more.

Charlotte takes a dainty step back still looking at me and then pivots
around to walk back into the reception room. My eyes follow her, locked on
the generous curves of her ass. Fuck. I no longer need to wonder or
speculate about what my father saw in her. It’s the same thing every red
blooded guy sees when he looks at her. SEX. Between her large rack, her
full lips and her heart shaped ass, I don’t know which I’d like to bite
more. But I’d sure like to find out.

Five Tempestuous Stars

Reviewed by Donna Elsegood on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever

Remy Blake is a male and female author co-writing together for the first time and who I’ll most certainly be keeping an eye on in the future! And what a great debut novel it is, too. I was drawn into a different kind of story which is unusual in the respect that the female protagonist is quite a bit older than her counterpart rather than the other way around. Seeing that forbidden romances have always been a favourite of mine, I couldn’t wait to learn more about Charlotte and Lucas.

Charlotte is in her late twenties, recently widowed, and it appeared to me that her marriage was shrouded in secrets. Lucas Rockwell is the son of her deceased husband and therefore Charlotte’s stepson. And to make things more interesting is of course, the age difference. Told from a dual point of view, I got an insight into what each of them are thinking. There are a couple of side characters, but the main emphasis of the story is on Charlotte and Lucas. The attraction is pretty explosive, but at no point did I feel uncomfortable with them being stepmother and stepson. I think that has something to do with them not really knowing each other beforehand.

Regardless of Lucas’ young age, his persona was never portrayed as such. I found him particularly level-headed and as I read more about his childhood into adulthood, it was clear there were reasons for such maturity. And I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. Charlotte I warmed to and by no means did I ever judge her or consider her the villain. The connection between them is explosive, extremely prohibited and their relationship becomes a journey full of intrigue, love and lots of secrets. Maybe you’ll think it’s taboo. I didn’t!

“Charlie why are you running away? There’s nothing wrong with what we just did.”

“Lucas this was amazing, but it never should have happened.”

“It can never happen again.”   “You’re my stepson.”

Take a bite of this very forbidden juicy fruit! It’s a short read and so well written that you just won’t be able to put your kindle down. I’ve read it twice; the second time in the comfort of my own home. The reason being is simply because the hot steamy and sizzling scenes should carry a public warning! If you happen to commute to work, it isn’t advisable to read Tempt and I say that with all sincerity. I read a lot of erotica but this offering had me a little hot under the collar with a blush. Just as well fellow commuters had no idea what I was reading! I highly recommend adding this book to your wish list as it really isn’t one to be missed. The execution of the way the story was told and the development shows that a collaboration of the two authors worked extremely well. Very well deserved stars for a very well narrated story.

Synopsis:

~ Sometimes, one degree is all that separates you from the one you were meant to be with ~

Wes Bergman was sex on a stick.

We’d been circling one another our entire lives, mingling at the same clubs… attending the same events…sharing mutual acquaintances…yet we’d never actually met.

Until . . . we both boarded a Windjammer Cruise in the Caribbean. And it was like meeting my long, lost best friend for the first time. I hadn’t ever connected with a guy that way before.
But Wes had a girlfriend. So, when the week was over, he walked off the ship, unknowingly taking a piece of my heart with him.

Now, over a decade later, newly divorced, I’m the proverbial fish out of water. Dating has totally changed. Apps. Swipe left. Swipe right. Catfishing. Men my age want two things: twenty-five-year-olds—like my ex’s new child bride of a wife—or just a quick hook-up.

After a string of bad dates, I finally did something I never thought I’d do. I had a hot one-night stand with a really handsome guy I met online who didn’t even know my real name.

Turned out Mr. Fling is a big shot for my company’s newest client. And just my
luck, that client’s CEO is none other than . . . Wes Bergman.
Now I’m separated by one degree again from the man who stole my heart.
And Mr. Fling could destroy my chance of what I want most –

A Do-Over with Wes.

Five Romantic Stars

Reviewed by Donna Elsegood on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever

I was very pleased to learn Julie had written a new offering as I am quite the fan of her past works. I’ve always loved the style of this author with her ability to draw you into the story and make you feel every emotion the character goes through. I’m a great believer in things happen for a reason and am sure our pathways are mapped out for us. This is a second chance romance and as I read through, I kept thinking about why things didn’t go down a certain route the first-time round. Learning about the characters and the experiences of their lives made a lot of sense.

Tara and Wes meet on a cruise ship and there is an instant attraction. They share a deep connection that is so intense, I could feel it. It was like they had been living in a parallel universe, with all the similarities of their likes and dislikes. Like many holidays, they part ways but due to some of the events on the cruise, Tara says to herself she wants a do-over since Wes was the one who got away.

Years later, Tara is an independent, hardworking single mum having gone through a divorce. Tara decides to try and get into the dating game and again with some very hilarious results. I did laugh pretty hard at one of her encounters with a guy that was a dentist. They say you have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince and ooh boy, did she find a few of them! It’s by chance or coincidence that Wes walks back into Tara’s life. The attraction and connection is still pretty palpable even after all this time.

” I want a do-over.”

“I’m not going to respond to you with the mean thing you said to me when I told you that.”

This is told completely from Tara’s point of view and it is mixed with love, laughter and tears. There are some aspects of the story that are hard hitting and all too real. Scarlett is Tara’s 14-year-old daughter and she was quite the character. I loved her instant friendship with Wes. The characters were a great compliment to the story.

Wes is a successful, sexy man and you can see as a reader that Tara and him were a great combination, but life had a habit of getting in the way. Although their lives are on par, it always seemed to be that some force was working against them. There are some steamy moments; however, the main emphasis is the romantic feel to the story. I couldn’t put this book down and found myself desperate to continue to find out will they or won’t they get their act together. Wes and Tara just needed a gentle shove in the right direction as all the way through you could feel the connection and the attraction between the pair.

I gave this second chance romance a five because it had everything that I like in a good story. Just the right mix of love, angst, laughter and heartbreak and steamy moments.
