Kindle Friends Forever: 5 ★ Review by Donna Elsegood
The lady has done it yet again with her flawless writing. Of course, I was invested in Liam and Sarah from the first book in the series, but I was desperate to know what was in store for them. The story is told in dual point of view; however, there’s more from Sarah than Liam in this offering. Mainly due to the fact that we get to experience Sarah unravelling. I’m glad we still got to know some of Liam’s thoughts because this second part just punches you in the stomach with its delicate issues. I couldn’t put this down and was so intrigued to see where the story would take me.
I’d already felt the passion between the two protagonists from the first part and this continues to grow from strength to strength as we learn more of their story. A whirlwind romance leads to marriage giving me a bird’s eye view of how their lives progressed together. This emotionally charged story still has its light-hearted humour and that’s what helps give the reader a fine balance. Believe me, the issues raised by the author will have your heart racing and breaking all in one fell swoop. I felt the strength they drew together but at the same time, the vulnerability was palpable. Sometimes in life, you find yourself in a set of circumstances and can’t see a way out or a light at the end of the tunnel.
“I love you a lottle, Sarah Delaney.”
“I love you a lottle more.”
There’s a lot of hot steamy passion; in fact, they were like a pair of rabbits at times! Phew. . . talk about sizzling and then the fun banter had me grinning from ear to ear! Saying that, I think all this was preparing me for the sensitive subject matter to come. There’s a soundtrack on Spotify that gave me goosebumps while reading this enthralling segment. The side characters were a great compliment to the story with our favourites; Sasha, Luke, Nan and Grandad with a couple of extras.
Many women reading Spiralling Skywards will relate to the issues touched on and I for one, was in tears. I’d be smiling one second and then couldn’t see through my watery eyes. Actually, the emotions Sarah and Liam’s story evoked, simply exhausted me. One particular track from the playlist summed up the experiences they were going through perfectly. It was a bumpy ride at times but I felt that Ms Jones did a fabulous job relaying the depth of these two fabulous characters who I loved and connected to. I’m hoping we’ll get more from the side characters, and updated glimpses of how Sarah and Liam’s life together is going for them.
“What did you do? What the fuck did you do, Sarah? Why, why would you. . . ”
There is no question this story deserves five stars and if it were ever possible, I would have awarded it more. I haven’t stopped thinking about this book since reading the final words. What I don’t want to do is to give too much away as my recommendation to the prospective reader is pick up this magnificent tale and enjoy!

It only takes one defining moment.
Sarah knows from the second she meets Liam that their connection is more than just instant attraction. It’s deep, it’s consuming, and has the potential to be the real thing. But true love comes at a price.
Fuelled by Liam’s past, Sarah’s issues, and a messy web of family ties, business partnerships, and exes, the combined forces threaten to snuff out their new found relationship.
Will that spark be smothered by outside forces? Or will they be carried like smoke from the ashes and sent spiralling skywards?
Written in Lesley Jones’ usual heartfelt, witty, and emotional voice, this dual point of view story is just the beginning of her Spiralling series.
