All of us live with a demon inside. Some days, you control the demon. And other days, it controls you. But the one thing that never changes is that it’s always hungry. It feeds on lust and longing. You may slumber, but the demon never sleeps. It tempts you into crossing every line you’ve ever drawn, and all the while, it tests you, haunts you. And once it has turned your loved ones into enemies, the demon has consumed you whole. ~Jordana

Jordana Albanese grew up in a world that spun with lies, secrets, and multiple sins. Her father, Gene—reigning king in the Mafia for the last few decades—never protected her from his underworld dealings (La Coso Nostra). She learned at a young age that in order to survive in her world, one must be dominant. She wore the shield of control on a daily basis, but all she wanted was to slip it off and discard it like yesterday’s laundry. Except, letting it go would mean letting it all go. And she didn’t want that. She learned of a compromise—to let go of control in private, behind a closed door, with the orders of him. Not simply to be controlled, but to be dominated. The only problem was that her ambitions cut bone deep. Deeper than her Dom’s belt on her ass. Deeper than the marks from the restraints he used to subdue and pleasure her. The enduring marks were not visible to the human eye. They were profound wounds—scars—on her soul that only she could feel.
And that’s where she found the perfect balance in the two. Her submissive tendencies served her well in the bedroom. However, in public, she was very much as dominant as her male counterparts.

Five Powerful Stars

The title of this book says it all! The Power Of A Woman revolves around the lives of two main protagonists. Jordana Albanese and Stefan Giannottis. They had two main things in common. One. Both were born into Mafia families. Two. The raw passion they felt for each other.

Jordana lives her life as a Mafia princess. Her father, Carlo, is the current king of the Mafia. Her mother had passed away and she’s practically taken over the responsibilities of the day to day running of the household and that of caring for her younger brother. Jordana’s no stranger to the shady dealings that went on inside the family. Most Mafia families have an illegal and legitimate side to their business. Jordana’s allowed to handle the financial side of the legitimate business. She well-knows that growing up in this kind of environment means being able to survive in a world where you need to have balls of steel, ruthlessness and not showing any weaknesses. She came across in this book as exactly that. Until…

Stefan is the son of Mick Giannottis. The heir to the Giannottis family business. It wasn’t always that way as Stefan had had an older brother who unfortunately met with an untimely demise. Stefan was brought back into the fold to help run the family business which was loan-sharking.

What an explosive affair Jordana and Stefan have! It didn’t take me long to suss Jordana out either. I understood her like to control; nevertheless, with Stefan she willingly surrenders it. Dominate her is precisely what he did and precisely what I wanted him to do, too. A relationship which starts off as a casual fling becomes so much more as time passes by. Their feelings grow stronger, but family problems get in their way causing an unmeasurable amount of distress. Jordana’s younger brother gets into a bit of bother with the Giannottis. Thinking she can help her brother with or without the support of Stefan or her father, she unwittingly puts herself into a dangerous situation that doesn’t go well. As a reviewer, I can only say “Read the book and all your questions will be answered!” Will the families be a stumbling block for Jordana and Stefan’s happily ever after? Or will love and Mafia truly avail? I sure hoped so!

Gina Whitney and Leddy Harper. Congratulations on this joint collaboration. The knowledge and depth you gave to this book made it a most enjoyable read. I felt as if I was right there in the middle of a scene from “The Godfather”. Jordana was feisty and gutsy and complimented Stefan so well in all aspects of their life together. I really liked her as a character and Stefan wasn’t too bad himself as a dominant alpha male. He definitely made my toes curl and then some. The sizzling sex scenes were just that, Sizzling! Thank you. A book that truly deserves five hot, powerful stars.

Leddy Harper

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.
