There was shouting in Thai, and Lily had to get physical with one of the girls in order to get her to leave, but eventually all three hookers were in the hall. Lily slammed the door shut and went back into the bathroom. Kingsley was sitting upright in the shower, still rubbing his hands all over his face and head.

“Is it cold in here?” he asked. She grabbed his arm and hauled him to his feet.

“Yes, it’s cold in here because you’re in the water,” she explained, careful as she helped him get out of the tub.

“Right, right, that makes sense,” he agreed. He leaned on her and she staggered under his weight. They tumbled out of the room and fell onto his king sized bed.

“C’mon, up up up,” she urged, sitting upright. He rolled onto his back, instead.

Lily got down on the floor, working to pull off his shoes. It wasn’t easy, he kept moving his legs and kicking his feet. His wet laces also put up a fight, but she eventually won the battle and threw his shoes across the room.

“Oi, thanks love, I hate those shoes!” he called to her as he struggled to sit upright.

“Well, then why did you -,”

For being stoned out of his mind, Kingsley was surprisingly quick, and he grabbed her by the back of her neck and yanked her forward. Lily was underneath him before she even knew what was happening, and then before she could react to what he’d just done, he was kissing her. Kingsley had kissed her once before, but it had been a goodbye kiss. No tongue, more of a show than anything else.

There was nothing funny about the way he was kissing her now. It was like he was ravenous, and she was a full buffet. She squealed and tried to push him off, but he didn’t even notice. His hands wandered down her body, squeezing her breasts while his tongue explored her mouth.

This may have been a bad idea. Maybe I should’ve gone back to Ohio.

Lily smacked him in the side of the head, and when he pulled away to question her, she whacked him in the throat. Not hard enough to do any real damage, but hard enough to make him choke and gag.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing!?” he demanded, his voice hoarse.

“I have the same question!” she yelled back, pushing at his chest, trying to get him off of her.

“What kind of whore are you!?”

“I’m not a whore!”

He paused. His hand was on his throat, massaging where she’d hit him, and he looked down at her. His pupils were huge, and he seemed to have trouble focusing on one point. But then his eyes found hers and he stopped. Just stared down at her.

“Lily,” he said her name in a soft voice. The hand he had against his throat fell away, lightly touching the side of her face.

“Yeah, it’s me,” she said back, keeping her own voice low.

“I’m very glad you’re here,” he started, “though I wish I’d known you were coming. I hate for you to see me like this.”

“Me, too. I tried to call.”

“I’m sure you did. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m terribly sorry, but I think I’m going to pass out.”

And he did just that, collapsing on top of her. She gasped underneath his weight, and it took her a couple moments to wriggle free of him.

“Great, just great,” she grumbled, looking over at him as he snored away.

What was she supposed to do with a stoned mercenary!?

Crazy woman living in an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since …, forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

COVER REVEAL                                       CARNAL DESIRE by SEBASTIAN EX

Title: Carnal Desire

Series: Onyx Club #3

Author: Sebastian Ex

Genre: Erotic Romance

 Release Date: November 23, 2015

Cover Design: Book Cover By Design

My name is Nathan Stone, and I’m part owner of a BDSM club called The Onyx Room – and I’m not like any other man you’ve ever met.

I own the club with my two best friends, Matthew and Brandon. I’m the dungeon Master who runs The Onyx Room. Matthew and Brandon support me.

I’m also in love with my girl. Bianca and I have been together since the night she got in my car to sell me her body. She thought I’d take her for an hour to sate my carnal desire, but what she didn’t know was that I’d seen her before and purposely bought her to save her from herself.

Bianca needed more than a Dominant. She needed a Master. My name is Master Nathan Stone, and welcome to my world.

*Possible triggers, coarse language, graphic sex and adult themes.

Bianca requires aftercare as much as she needs the sting of the pain. I clean her wounds, and apply a liberal amount of Neosporin ointment and let the wounds breathe. I then cover her up with the thin blanket and sit on the bed beside her. “Slave.” Her eyes flicker open. “Here you go.” I unscrew the water bottle and hold it to her lips. She automatically reaches out so she can take the bottle, but I lightly smack her hand away. “I’ll take care of you.” Bianca smiles, then puts her lips to the bottle as I tip it so she can drink.

“Thank you, Master,” she dreamily says before placing her head on the pillow and falling into sleep.

Walking away from the bed and to the opposite side of the playroom, I take my phone out of my pocket and call Matthew.

“Hey,” he says when he answers.

“Hey, I’m supposed to do an inventory check today but Bianca is starting to fall. We’ve just had a mini scene, but she’s out of it. Can you go in and start it, and I’ll be there in a few hours. I need to make sure she’s okay.”

“She alright?”

“Not great, but I’m hoping this time I can get to her before her mind fucks her over.”

“Dude, whatever you need.”

“Thanks, can you go in and start inventory?”

“Yeah, I’m taking Ella to see Debra her OBGYN, check the baby and make sure everything’s alright, then we can head in and start on it.”

“Thanks, we’ll be there before the club opens, but I just can’t get there for a couple of hours.”

“Yeah, man, don’t worry yourself. I’ve got it covered, look after your girl.”

All of us live with a demon inside. Some days, you control the demon. And other days, it controls you. But the one thing that never changes is that it’s always hungry. It feeds on lust and longing. You may slumber, but the demon never sleeps. It tempts you into crossing every line you’ve ever drawn, and all the while, it tests you, haunts you. And once it has turned your loved ones into enemies, the demon has consumed you whole. ~Jordana

Jordana Albanese grew up in a world that spun with lies, secrets, and multiple sins. Her father, Gene—reigning king in the Mafia for the last few decades—never protected her from his underworld dealings (La Coso Nostra). She learned at a young age that in order to survive in her world, one must be dominant. She wore the shield of control on a daily basis, but all she wanted was to slip it off and discard it like yesterday’s laundry. Except, letting it go would mean letting it all go. And she didn’t want that. She learned of a compromise—to let go of control in private, behind a closed door, with the orders of him. Not simply to be controlled, but to be dominated. The only problem was that her ambitions cut bone deep. Deeper than her Dom’s belt on her ass. Deeper than the marks from the restraints he used to subdue and pleasure her. The enduring marks were not visible to the human eye. They were profound wounds—scars—on her soul that only she could feel.
And that’s where she found the perfect balance in the two. Her submissive tendencies served her well in the bedroom. However, in public, she was very much as dominant as her male counterparts.

‘What’s the Alphabet Game, Gabe?’
‘It’s a little something I thought up once I’d seen how damn smoking hot you are. It’s simple. We take it in turns to name a word following through the letters of the alphabet, but it has to relate to sex in some way.’

In April 2014 I released my first self-published novel, The Alphabet Game. The book is an erotic romance/suspense, with two storylines running through; the cat and mouse game against their mutual enemies and the playing of the sexual alphabet.

I had messages from readers who enjoyed the series and a few said they were going to play it now they’d read it. This got me thinking. What about if I actually put together a companion guide, a bedside table book that you can play?

So here it is. At the back of the book you’ll find a chart to mark off as you go along and a certificate for when you’ve completed all the letters.

KFF’s 5 ★ REVIEW by Sarah Bookhooked

There’s no denying Jane is one of my favourite authors and Semper Fi didn’t fail to be another incredible read.

After reading and loving The Education of Sebastian (TEoS) which took place ten years before The Education of Caroline (TeoC), and both from Caroline’s point of view, Semper Fi is the retelling of The Education of Caroline from Sebastian’s point of view. I’m a big lover of a duel point of view read so when I heard that Jane had written this, I was thrilled that I was not only going to be getting more of Seb, but also his POV. Oh, how I loved to be inside his head and hear this outstanding story in his own words.

Seb was only seventeen when he fell in love with Caro. Caroline was thirty, married, but things weren’t going as well as they should have been for her. You get their back story in the first book, (The Education of Sebastian), which tells us how these two fell for each other and the outcome after being torn apart.

My heart went out for Caro. Her very existence was an absolute nightmare. Controlled by husband and still married to him, she meets up with Sebastian once again. She hadn’t seen him since he was a little boy; now he’s a seventeen year old who had had a rough life no thanks to his parents. So his upbringing wasn’t a great start and it wasn’t made any better after they found out about them being together.

Ten years later, Caro is a journalist and Seb enlisted as a marine. Meeting up anew, it just happens that Seb is preparing to go back to Afghanistan. Even though emotions are at bursting point, little does he know that she will end up reporting in this conflictive war zone. So when he spots her, he realises she is and has always been his one and only true love. How does he win her back? He’s still madly in love with her and prepared to do whatever it takes to get her back and be his forever.

Quote: Seb ~ “Caro, I’ve got seventeen days before I ship out. I’d like to spend them with you. That’s all. If you don’t want to see me after that…well, I guess that’s it.”

But is she prepared to give it another go with Seb?

Quote: Caro ~ “Look, today, tonight—it’s been fun. But like I said to you before, I’m really not looking to get tied down again.

These two go through so much from a road trip where they get to know each other more, to heading out to a combat area together, to a horrible accident and suffering PTSD. Can they both pull through his trauma and get the ending they both deserve? I most certainly felt that they warranted it. For me, the quote below simply sums up his undeniable love for her.

Quote: Seb ~ I looked into her eyes, so she could see the truth of my words. “I love you, Caro, so much. I haven’t changed how I feel. I still love you—I’ve always loved you. It’s only ever been you.”

So my biggest fear was whether or not they would be able to overcome the past and conquer the present? I’ll leave this for you to find out for yourselves in this beautifully written story. Saying that, I am sad that we won’t get any more of Caro and Seb. The ending! Wow, it literally took my breath away. Quite magnificent.

Flawlessly plotted with really good character development, this story, for me, flowed from the beginning to the end with perfection. I can’t wait for the next brilliant piece of writing from Jane. Oh, and one more thing I really must add is the age difference. Loved it!

I love to write.

I was born on the 13th, which explains a lot.

I write every day and get twitchy on the days when I’m prevented from writing.

I live by the beach, so you’ll find a beach scene in all of my books sooner or later.

Hobbies include ogling hot surfers.

Writing is solitary but that doesn’t make it lonely. My FB and Goodreads friends are very important to me. My writing buddies are A. Meredith Walters and Devon Hartford—lovely, kind, generous people.

I carry a notebook EVERYWHERE. I never know when ideas will come to me. I even write notes to myself at night in the dark. Hopefully I can read the scrawl I’ve written in the morning.

There’s a little part of me in every book I write. The philosophy from ‘Playing in the Rain’ is that you have to make the most of the life you’re given—choose to be happy as much as you can and look for the positive. I don’t always make it, but I do try.

Kindle Friends Forever: Reviewed by Sharon Thérèse Nuttall

CARNAGE: The Story Of Us

When an author writes two killer books, rocks your world and leaves you in a blubbering mess, they merit a reread and that’s just what I did. Even though I have both books on my Kindle, before reading her latest release, Marley, I decided to review the boxed set. Rereading is like watching your fave film again. Tiny details stand out more, thoughts forgotten come back in multicolour, and regardless of my book buddies’ warnings, or even the first impact I had had, I was once again amazed at Lesley’s narrative skills. The first book is told in past tense, first person, and from Georgia’s point of view. Descriptive words are abundant but not overused; the story’s structure strong enough to convey a sense of hopelessness. And despite the absence of banter in many passages, this never lessened the read. When introduced, tension had been sufficiently built up to affect the moods of those of you who may doubt that what occurs unlikely. Believe you me, it is not. Raw, so true and so possible. I found the author’s style of writing helpful as the timespan covers a long period, puts the protagonist’s story into perspective and no confusion is caused.

The era in which this story is focused on brought so many memories back. Born in Brentwood and brought up in Shenfield, Essex; I was there, in all the places mentioned and what a joy! Those were the times when under-age drinking was done, drugs were dabbled in and youngsters were influenced by music like none other. This is the case with protagonist’s elder brothers. The lads are encouraged to play by their father and oh boy, did they! Georgia’s brothers hold an audition for a lead singer and Marley’s best mate, Sean McCarthy, Maca to his friends, incorporates into the band, Carnage. He first claps eyes on Georgia when she is eleven years old. And love; albeit however young they were, slowly flourishes into what would appear to be unbreakable. Or was it only going to be a matter of time before choices made without thinking had repercussions?

Quote: Sean ~ “You, Gia, are a flirt. But one day… one day it will be our turn. Our time.”

George came across as a spoilt brat to begin with and I had trouble connecting with her. She’s used to getting her own way and tries to run rings around her parents and brothers. Well, she’s far from daft, is the apple of their eyes and wants for nothing. Saying that, there were parts in the book when her protective father and brothers had to remind her of her behaviour. It was so easy to imagine her throwing a tantrum because character, she most definitely has. She’s sparky, headstrong, and hot-headed. While it took time for me warm up to her, my feelings for her bestie, Jamie, aka, Jimmie, were quite the reverse. Not only did I adore her, but I was so grateful that George had such a steadfast friend who would always have her back. And when the going gets tough, there she is, by her side loving her and handing out good advice. Observing them go through all the trials and tribulations of growing up to become fully-fledged young women, was a pleasure to read.

Quote: Jamie ~ “Don’t George Don’t do this to yourself…”

Marley and his sister have a close-knit relationship. Playfully insulting each other, crude banter flows between them making me crack up. Especially considering the lingo used was so downright authentic. Britain has some of the most fabulous accents and Essex is no exception. At the very beginning of the book, the author has clarified the terms us Essex folk use in a glossary worthy of looking at.

Quote: Marley ~ “Just remember, Maca, she’s not fourteen yet and she’s my little sister. You do anything more than kiss here and I will kill you. Then my brothers and my dad will kill you again.”

No excuses have to made for the juvenile sex which takes place between the two protagonists. Some of you might be scandalised by this but that’s how it was then… And beautiful bedroom scenes they are. Maca and George’s ages didn’t influence me in the slightest as they knew what they wanted, discussed it, waited for the right moment and vowed never ending love. It just seemed to be a natural step.

Quote: Sean ~ “I love you Georgia Rae Layton. I love ya so much.”

Boom! Carnage becomes one of the most successful bands in the world. With fame, came problems. A bed of roses… far from it. A series of misfortunes will cost Maca and George dearly. My heart broke into smithereens, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Kept apart, it takes ages of suffering for them to find there way, to find each other. But in the interim period, disconsolate, George finds her pain softens with the help of Cam. I loved the age difference and really hoped that their relationship would work but not all is fair in love, is it?

Quote; Cameron ~ “Don’t swear, Kitten, it’s not nice. Now pull up your skirt and show me what you’re wearing.”

The unimaginable happens and I was caught up in a vortex of emotions. How much could George take? Racked with pain, her family watched her world come tumbling down. I broke down. Literally. Broke. Down. Finishing Carnage: The Story Of Us at silly o’clock didn’t sate my need to dive into The Story Of Me. I was desperate to read it regardless of the sleep deficit on the cards. There are so many details in this read that I can’t possibly find words for. As I’ve said before, this is the second time I have read it and I wouldn’t hesitate to read it again, again and again. I have hardly mentioned Maca. Oh Maca! Love, love, loved him. Ashley, George’s other bestie was so easy to relate to, too. The secondary characters development; par-excellent. What more can I say except read it!

Fave quote: Sean ~ I love ya, Georgia Rae, show us your tits.”

CARNAGE: The Story Of Me

Incredible! The author changed her style of writing. Told in present and much to my delight, this read flips between the two protagonists’ point of view. Trying to find the adequate words to describe how much this book moved me is not going to be an easy task. Firstly, I would like to say that George’s attitude changed completely when she she found that the love of her life was not to be in her life. Her battle with chronic depression to the point of desperation is crudely described every step of the way. This woman who irritated me so much in the first book, comes down to earth with a hard bump. She sees the light only because of harsh words from her brothers and sister-in-laws. If it wasn’t for her family’s support, she wouldn’t be here to tell her story. The once spoilt child has grown up. She’s still hot-headed, she still has her moments, but learns to control her feelings in between brackets. Humph, her escapade in Australia had me shouting out loud at her. What in the name of hell and beyond was this strong-minded woman doing messing with drink and drugs with a cum-singer, cum-surfer, cum-playboy! Hadn’t she learnt anything? Well, yes and no. Roman was hot, the sex was hot, I felt her pain, and I understood that she had to let go. But I didn’t like it. Her Aussie cousin, Jax, didn’t like it. Even though her experience there wasn’t exactly what I would call a prescription for getting over such a traumatic loss, it helped her.

Quote: Georgia ~ “Don’t be ridiculous, Jax; Rome didn’t make me do anything I didn’t want to.”

There’s nothing like being in the right place at the right time. Cameron, aka Cam, was there. We met up with him in the first book. Who is on whose team doesn’t even come into the equation with him though. He damn well knows it’s not going to be an easy ride and has to prove himself to the only woman he has ever loved. Cam is adorable, a cultured cockney, successful in business and he takes whatever he can. I cried for this man. Snuffly nose dripping, snotty tears. He is played a harsh hand, he manned up to his responsibilities and regardless of whether or not the problem kept knocking on his door, he was going to find a solution!

Quote: Cameron ~ “Let it out Kitten. If you need to cry, then just go for it, baby. Don’t me ashamed. Don’t ever be ashamed to cry for what you lost.”

Family. This is the key to this story. George’s mother, father, her brothers and their wives, her dearest friends, have a huge part to play in in this story which had me spellbound, in tears, aghast but so very happy with the outcome. I can’t possibly express to you all how much I loved these two reads. Cry, laugh out loud, enjoy the banter, hearing my football team mentioned was a plus. West Ham United. The Hammers! Cam, what good taste you have. Apart from this, the London, Essex lingo is in a nutshell, perfect. Bravo to you Lesley. So looking forward to reading Marley’s story.
