Broken Glass (The Glass Trilogy #2)
17th March, 2015
:::: SYNOPSIS ::::
Daniel Glass is back. Not only as Janie’s director, but as her leading man in the BDSM-themed movie, The Dark Edge of Love, the sexiest romance since Fifty Shades of Grey.
But Janie can’t shake off her obsession that Daniel is still in love with his late wife, the invincible blonde bombshell, Natasha Jürgen. Not only that, but rumor has it he’s sleeping with half of Hollywood. Janie is determined to keep Daniel at a comfortable distance, but his insistence, charm, and the power he has over her psyche, wins her over. She simply can’t resist.
Because of family commitments Janie sets off to Vegas, with Daniel in pursuit. And just when she finds out that he is not the man she feared he was, a calamity befalls the couple.
Daniel Glass is broken . . .
And everything Janie has come to believe . . .
Is worse than just a lie.
:::: EXCERPT ::::
My mind wandered back to Daniel. He obviously did care about me; his manipulative hiring and firing proved it. I knew he felt something for me. But still, I did not want to be his rebound relationship. Just because his late wife was dead and gone did not make me number one in his eyes. He’d told me, to my face, I was the last person in the world he wanted a relationship with. His words: “I’m feeling very angry right now. I’m in no state to have a relationship, least of all with you,” ricocheted in my brain. I wished I could fast-forward time. Be the sophisticated actress I would be five years hence, when Daniel would be mentally free of Natasha Jürgen and all her beauty, glamor and sophistication, and the lost child they would have had together, and be ready for someone like me. No, not someone like me. Me.
Me, me, me, me!
Calm down, Janie, get a grip.
I decided I needed to come clean. Tell Daniel how I felt. Clear the air. Confront him about his fuckathon. After all, I was about to get up close and personal with him, what if he’d caught a sexually transmitted disease on his rounds? That flimsy cock-sock he’d be wearing and the miniscule thingy to cover my girly bits would hardly protect me from raging genital herpes or Hepatitis C. I’d insist he get tested and insist that he keep clear of other women until we’d finished filming. I could even get my lawyer to write it into my contract.
Yes! I’d do the role, but on certain conditions. I mentally made a list of my limits:
No sexual relations with anyone else during filming.
Mandatory testing for STDs and HIV, with rights to see the doctor’s report with my own eyes.
No tormenting me with sexy talk about fucking me or spanking me. (Or had I im- agined that)?
No kissing me off set or whispering sweet nothings in my ear.
No cameras or videos allowed on set during filming, other than the main cameras.
Everyone who is connected with the movie to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and the follow-up is even better. The author has most certainly titillated us with a plot that thickens by the minute. She had me playing the guessing game which is right up my street. Throw in a gorgeous drop-dead Alpha male, a leading lady who can’t quite make up her mind whether to take the leading part in a film he’s going to direct and act in or not, and just maybe an erotic movie will be in the making.
There is no doubt Arianne knows what she’s talking about. She has created a unique plot and her characters are easy to relate to. When Daniel declares his feelings for Janie, she’s more than dubious. You can’t blame her because his reputation for not just wining and dining tall elegant blondes is the talk of the town. But is he indeed the man-whore she thinks he is? She has that to discover at an event where Cal who we meet in the first book, conveniently does a disappearing act. Secrets are revealed, lies are rife, and throughout the confusion woven into the story, had me flipping the pages to find out what was actually going on. And Cal, well, he shows his true colours by being caught out stealing someone’s identity. “Whose,” you may ask?
Daniel ~ ‘’ Fuck, you’re sexy, Janie, you make me fucking ravenous for you.’’
Janie can’t believe her luck when she realises that the man she’s been obsessed with since she first met him in the theatre, acknowledges his passion for her. Some highly arousing and sexy scenes take place, get your fans ready here because the author is an expert at provoking the reader. And when everything seems to be running smoothly; bam! My, oh, my, I can assure you that I wasn’t ready for the outcome of a most unfortunate happenings that took place under the most absurd circumstances either.
Daniel ~ ‘’ I need to claim this ass, Janie. I won’t be a hundred percent satisfied until I can call every last centimetre of your body mine. Call me greedy, I am.’’
Characters we’ve learnt to love in other novels are still giving Janie good advice. And new ones are introduced making this read more than interesting. Janie’s brother, Will, is going to cause an upset or two. The unspeakable aftermath that took place where it did, was undoubtedly because he’d done a runner of sorts forcing Janie to travel to Las Vegas. Of course, Daniel offered to accompany her in his private jet! Yeah, he’s loaded, too!
Will’s unconventional behaviour was written to perfection and I couldn’t not fall for this young lad who’s always willing to please in his peculiar way. I was in for a surprise with this supposedly innocent lad. Hmmph, it all happens in Vegas!
Janie ~ ‘’ Are you talking about what I think you are talking about?’’
Will ~ ‘’ Sure am.’’
Janie ~ ‘’ Did you use a condom?’’
Will ~ ‘’I used three condoms.’’
Daniel. Will his past come back with a vengeance? Did he even know a person close to him was too close for comfort? I’ll tell you this. I wasn’t expecting this twist at all. Actually, it horrified me to think that he might be aware of it. Lots of questions have to be answered in the final part of this trilogy, Hearts of Glass. I sincerely hope all my assumptions are wrong.
To sum up this read. The incredible cliffy had my buddy reader, Rachel, and myself messaging backwards and forwards like two desperately needy bookworms. Say no more! Arianne has done it again in style. Her penmanship is extremely vivid, her way with words is in my opinion, pure and utter perfection. A highly recommendable read; however, this is not a standalone so why not one-click on Shards of Glass if you haven’t read it already! Bravo to you Ms. Richmond for an entertaining read and the book covers in this series, well, I think I can say that KFF are real suckers for them!
