Filthy is a short novella and is part of the Fierce Series. It can be read as a standalone; however, I feel it’s best to read the others first to get a better understanding.

This novella tells the story of Jaret. He loves women; they hang round him night after night at the local club, and he always gets what he wants. Jaret is a dealer, gang member and pretty much doesn’t give a damn about anyone or anything. Cut off from his parents when he didn’t do as they wanted, he’s alone, broken and gets by on women and booze. By chance, he runs into Lin at a strip club. They were each other’s first love but things ended when Lin was sent to finishing school. Lin’s working in the club to pay off a loan. Jaret cannot believe it when he sees Lin again! The only girl he’s ever loved has made him more determined than ever not to let her go! He finds out where she’s living and who with. Her current partner is a fighter, abusive towards her, and even though she wants to leave him, she has no choice but to stay as he paid off her student loans. She agrees to let Jaret help her, so he sets out to try and free her of this man and win her for himself. Fate has handed him a second chance and he’s unwavering in his decision to take it. When Bobby, the man Lin lives with finds out about the two of them, threats are made and he challenges Jaret to match… will he accept? Will Jaret be able to protect Lin and will they ever be able to have a life together?

It’s wonderful to see the character of Jaret finally mature and put Lin’s happiness above all else. There are twists and turns, emotion and sweetness. This story is hot and sexy which you’d expect with a book by Clarissa!

TIED WEDDING INVITATIONnKFF had the pleasure accepting the invitation to a wedding we’ve all been waiting for. And what an event!

What a finale to such an awesome series! Or maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part, but could we see more of Drew Evans’ best buddies? There’s most definitely one or two of all these characters’ stories to be told!

To say I laughed out loud would be an understatement; I cried, dribbled, and there were times that I lost total control of my senses! Why? Because Drew’s way of sharing his point of view with us regarding love and marriage made me fall for this guy with an ego as big as the Grand Canyon, even more! And to be quite honest with you, I didn’t think that was possible.

“I was pretty frigging awesome before…but now I’m even better.”

The author’s style of writing is beyond refreshing. And the banter? Apart from being sassy, sarcastically realistic and downright snarky, all this makes for a credible story which you can relate to. Drew is a changed man. He had to mature if he was going to be worthy of Katherine Brookes’ love. He worships the earth that she walks on and takes on the responsibility of being a father with open arms. Oooh, baby James! You are just going to love him. Well, most of the time he’s adorable, because when Drew describes his fatherly chores like changing diapers, which I might add, he is very proud of doing, my imagination ran wild!

“Do I risk putting him down, or should I learn to sleep standing up like a frigging horse?”

However, he still holds a grudge against Kate’s ex, Warren. When Drew isn’t pulling his leg to the point of total and utter embarrassment, he’s handing him out advice. I’m telling you—Drew’s got he’s act together!

“I’m a sucker for a lost cause—St. Jude always was my favorite saint.”

He and Kate are going to tie the knot! After all the ups and downs they’ve had over the past five years, now is their moment of glory—the wedding. Nevertheless, there’s the stag and hen night to think about and on everyone’s agenda, and boy oh boy, if anyone is going to commit a sin, it’s going to be in Las Vegas! The lead up to a scene in the hotel where the gals participate in a “Goddess Party,” had me cracking up. And when the stag night gets in full swing, unless you’ve got nerves of steel, you’ll be flipping the pages over quickly to find out the outcome of their actions on the limit of debauchery.

“I know what you’re thinking: What the hell did you do this time?”

What I liked was no-one was left out of the celebrations. Drew’s demure secretary, Erin, surprises us towards the end of the story. Jack, the sworn bachelor might just have something up his sleeve. Will Drew’s sister, Alexander and her husband, Steven, who are going through a dodgy patch sort themselves out? And how will their daughter Mackenzie, the apple of Drew’s eye, react to her first kiss? Erm…Dee, Matthew’s wife. Yeah! You all know she and Drew aren’t exactly amicable towards each other. Mind you, that doesn’t mean that things could change! Last, but certainly not least…Kate! She is as always, gorgeous. The only woman who has been able to tame Drew, won’t disappoint you. With her quick remarks and tantalizing ways, her husband to be is well and truly enamoured.

“Mercy is a gift—given out of love, not worthiness. And that’s what Kate will always be to me.”

The bedroom scenes are incredibly sexy, there’s a good dose of drama and plenty of hilarious situations, so get ready for a really exciting read. Ms. Chase—you’ve done it before and you’ve outdone yourself this time. Bravo!

How true is one of my favourite quotes: “Contrary to popular belief, there’s definitely a right way and a wrong way to answer. Unfortunately for men, the honest answer is usually the wrong one.”

Underneath is a standalone novel bursting with suspense. It’s not a love story as the two protagonists have what would appear at the beginning of the book, a settled life; however, for Lauren, her life is on the verge of boredom. It has been written in first person which I regard as a difficult feat in itself. The plot is original and when you think that you have everything mapped out in your head, bam! There is a twist in it which will leave you aghast! Trust issues abound, deception rules, and the situation the characters find themselves in, draws out an aggressive behaviour they didn’t realise they had in them.

Lauren Lawler and her caring husband, Niall, have a nine year old lad, Joe, who they both adore. She is the perfect mother! Even though she doesn’t complain about her humdrum chores, and the running of a little business she has online keeps her occupied and brings in some extra cash, guess what’s lacking in the bedroom department? Trying to brighten up her sex life; enticing her dormant husband Niall with her womanly ways, has no effect whatsoever. She complains, he makes excuses and doesn’t hold back when he keeps reminding her that he is the bread-winner. I found it easy to relate to their lives. They are such a normal couple living in the north of England and do what most people do!

Lauren always looks forward to sharing her gripes with her bosom buddy, Monique. And of course, Monique laps up what Lauren tells her and is always ready to give advice. When an acquaintance from the past moves back to Sheffield, Lauren finds herself being cajoled into participating in her son’s school fète. Well, a flirtatious teacher may have a hand in her decision, too! But why, all of a sudden, Bettina wants any kind of relationship with her after what had happened years ago, makes Lauren suspicious. From here on in, the story picks up. Strange things occur and the only person who takes Lauren seriously is her bestie.

I was never waiting for the twist which put a hell of lot of spice into the story. The author has without a doubt, done her homework well! I would have liked to have known a little more about how Lauren and her husband overcame their problems after such a horrific experience. I didn’t come across one spelling mistake; nevertheless, the editing could have been better!

All in all, Underneath is an enjoyable read that will have you flipping the pages!

Sabrina Miller’s world is turned upside down one morning when her husband is tragically killed on his way to work. Left with three children, she focuses on them to get her through each day. With the help of her friend Nick, she gets through it and moves on with her life. Four years later, her world changes again when she bumps into Mike who she instantly feels attracted to. And he to her, but he carries a secret that involves Sabrina. A secret that could destroy everything. They get to know each other, sparks fly between them and they start to fall in love. Sabrina is happy again with Mike by her side. He’s kind, caring, attentive, sexy and gets on well with her children…everything is perfect. However, when his secret comes out, she finds herself devastated all over again. Will she be able to forgive and both of them move forward, or will Mike lose his chance of love with Sabrina? I’m not going to say any more as it will give away the rest of the story!

I loved this book! It’s a story of lost love, loss, friendship and finding happiness again when you least expect it. But about forgiveness, too. The story is well written, and despite the fact that it’s a fairly long read, I never felt bored or had the need to skip pages. It was interesting as there was always enough going on within the story to keep it that way. There’s also an array of secondary characters I hope to see in future books since this is book one in a series. It’s an emotional read so get your tissues ready…. it will break your heart then put it back together again! It’s not all heartbreak though. These two steam things up quite a bit and the sex scenes are smoulderingly hot!!!

For a first book, Myra has done a fantastic job. I loved the way it dragged me through a mill of emotions and so glad I went on Sabrina and Mike’s journey!!! Looking forward to what Myra has planned next!!!
